Time Machine Without Wifi

I have the 3TB Airport Time Capsule, but the routing ability was not strong enough for our house. So we now have a different router.

The problem is that my Time Capsule's Wifi ability had to be disconnected so it didn't interfere with the router (or at least that is what Cox Cable company keeps telling me is the problem) and I am now running a cord that is connected to the computer from my Time Capsule.

I want to start having it update automatically, but it can't find my time capsule anymore. How do I discover it using the connecting cable? Do I put it in the dotted circle on the time capsule or the <...> on the time capsule to the <...> on the computer? I know I had my old Time Capsule set up like this once before, but can't figure it out anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The WAN (Wide Area Network) port. Typically the port you would connect to your broadband modem.

You should use Applications -> Utilities -> Airport Utility and put your Time Capsule into "Bridge Mode", then you should be able to use the WAN port.

As it is now, it is most likely still trying to act as a router, and giving out DHCP addresses via the other 3 Ethernet ports.
