Macbook Pro 2016 having horizontal black lines running across the top of the display.

So I have a Macbook Pro 13" Late 2016, No Touchbar, 2 TBT 3 ports. I bought it last year October 16,2017, but I received it sometime in November (Due to transportation and such). At the time of writing, it is now October 17, 2018, therefore this laptop has less than 1 year worth of usage under its hood, and its 1 year warranty is now up. It is also Important to note that it has never fallen.

So on to the problem, I noticed, about 2 weeks ago, that some lines keep showing up towards the top of the display. It starts off as a faint grey double running across the top of the display from the apple logo right across to the notification icon. It then progressively gets worse, darkening to black and with more line below and above the original lines it started off with. It, for some reason never goes beyond that little bar in the top of the display.

I know, I know, "Reset the NVRAM/PRAM". Believe me, I've tried, every time I attempt to (following the steps religiously, and strictly) , instead of the NVRAM resetting, the laptop restarts in macOS recovery mode. I don't know how.

Then someone shouts from the back "Reset the SMC", I have tried this also, to no avail.

When this happened initially (September 30, 2018 I think), and apple customer representative told me to do these things, but like I said, they didn't work. So I just called it day and prayed that it went away. I shut down the laptop, shut the lid, and went to bed. The following morning, I was relived, the problem went away, and it stayed that way for about 2 weeks. And then a couple days a go the problem resurfaced.

For some reason however, if I close the lid of the computer and leave it closed for at-leased 5 minutes, the lines fade back to its initial grey double line state, however with continued use, shortly after it progressively gets worse to its black, multi line.

Also, If I close the lid for about 15 minutes, and reopen the lid, the lines vanish completely and then with time, the lines slowly reintroduces itself as the same grey double line and progressively gets worse with use, to multiple black lines.

Basically the longer I close the lid, the longer the lines are gone when I reopen the lid, and the longer I use the computer, the faster the lines reappear.

Also If I have the lid open and computer on but don't use the computer the lines fade slightly, and the moment I touch the trackpad or tap a key on the keyboard, all the lines reappear in all their black glory.

I also noticed last night and this morning that my trackpad started to lag for a bit and videos online also started to lag. This lasted about 5 minutes, and then went away. This very same problem occurred this morning as well, lasting another 5 minutes or so. Also important to note, that when I take a screenshot, the lines don't appear on the shot.

"So since you had the warranty, why didn't you carry it to an apple store?" Well I live in Jamaica, there are no apple stores here. However what I recently found out (yesterday) when speaking to Apple Customer Care, there is an Authorised Apple Repair place in Jamaica, and they honour warranties, the only problem is, my warranty is up now. I was wondering, since I reported the issue to Apple 2 weeks before the warranty ended, would I be allowed a grace period beyond the warranty?

Again I must stress that this laptop was bought brand new, has a couple weeks short of 1 year use, never fell before, is in brand new cosmetic condition ( not one Nick or Dent), lives in a hard shell plastic case, and is taken care of extremely well. I don't even cary the laptop in my hand (although in a hard shell case) unless it is in a sleeve, because I fear it falling and getting damaged. I am extremely worried about my device. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on here? And if I can get a grace period on my warranty?

I hope I will be able to get some help on this issue. In the event that my expired warranty cannot be used, does anyone have an Idea of the cost it would take to fix an issue like this?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016, 2 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2), Less than 1 year use
