Logic I/O labels

Hi

Could you help me understand the bus situation with Logic Pro x? I am a long time Pro Tools and Digital Performer user. In these DAWs we can save the I/O with its names etc separately with each project. It seems to me that this is not the case in Logic. If I do a mix with I/O labels set up for this particular mix, if I open another project, its busses will be displaying automatically those I/O labels and most often then not, be completely confusing.

Is there a way to save this with the project and have separate set-ups?

Mac Pro, iOS 11.2.6, null

Apparently it's not possible to save the sets of I/O labels with the project (and it escapes me why). However, it might be possible to have at least two I/O label sets saved in Logic: I/O labels that you edit manually (which would consequently apply to every project you open), and a set of labels provided by audio interface driver (which it might be possible to edit as well, through the interface driver, but not Logic itself). You may then switch from one set to another by selecting the appropriate label group in Mixer > Options > I/O Labels.

This seems to be the case in fact. The buses from the driver are not of much help. Apart from my standard busses, every project has their own. The Summing stack will also choose one arbitrary free bus. If there is a label there that I happen not to use in a given project, it will be used, confusing the **** out me 🙂. I think I will keep exporting the projects from Logic to Pro Tools for mixing. It is an easier workflow. 20 years of habits 🙂
