Outgoing Mail Server Failed

Hi,

Sending emails from my iCloud account on my iPhone X (12.1) has stopped working - it was working one minute, not the next.

If I send an email I get the following error:

"Cannot Send Mail

The connection to the outgoing server "p61-smtp.mail.me.com" failed. Addiotnal Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured for Mail accounts in Settings > Accounts & Passwords"

I've removed the account and re-added it and restarted the phone to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m having the same problem on two different iPhones (work and home). Both started when updated to 12.1.

Hopefully a fix is found soon, it rather frustrating

Turning off and on iCloud email and logging out and back into iCloud does not help.

UPDATE: the error message changed, so they must be working on it on the server side. Now it says it is not accepting the sent email address of myemail@-mac.com (where myemail is my actual email, but it’s from @mac.com, not @-mac.com)
