Apple security update 2018-002 10.13.6 fails on Mac Pro

I never installed Security Update 2018-002 after reading this thread. So to answer one of your questions, there is only Security Update 2018-003 now as my only option. 2018-002 is no longer available from my end.

I haven't attempted to install the new update yet.

If you search the community you will find a separate thread on 2018-003. Clearly it’s no better. Best stay clear of trying to apply it yet. I applied it on my MacBook and finished up aborting back to macOS reinstall from internet recovery

I gave 2018-003 a try on my iMac late 2010 after having reinstalled because of previous update problems. It went into some kind of verbose error log and I had to recover using time machine. I might try again to save the log details, but the error output was the length of a novel and did not make much sense to me.

Hi, I am having similar non-function problems on MP 2010 after the most recent ‘security update’ to 10.13.6. I scrolled thru many posts about this problem (won’t boot, can’t reboot, can’t reinstall, can’t run first aid, etc.) and someone referenced a post by you that seemed to solve the problem. Now I can’t locate it. If you know which informed post of yours they were referring to, could you send it along? Thanks.

With my Mac Mini medio 2011 the same problem

Click the More button/ text and install the updates individually.

Same problem here on MBP mid 2012 13 inch. Had to restore from time machine backup.

Yes, same. Guess, have to restore using Time Machine

And I have a 3GB data limit, so can't even begin to get a later OS.😠

Same problem, with the security update on a 2012 Mac Pro, it will not fully shut down, even after multiple (hard) restarts. This is a real mess.
