Apple security update 2018-002 10.13.6 fails on Mac Pro

I believe I did it.

I’ll try again.

right now it says I have installed the latest security update and OS. If I go to App Store, confirms it.

Does anyone know if I restore from TM to the previous update prior to this lame latest security update i’ll Solve this issue?

Today I successfully updated my iMac 27 inch Late 2015 using the steps from chelidon! (thanks one more time)

The App Store shows the Security update 2018-002 as well as Safari version 12.0.1 as part of the installed updates.

I'm glad I have taken this hurdle. So far no issues at all.

One surprise though: my wife's MacBook 12inch still needed the 10.13.6 update. After that update, the Security update 2018-002 did not show up in the App Store. I wonder wether it is not relevant or it will show up soon...

2011 MBA was stuck on this update as well, only way to get out of it was copying my files from terminal command line. So much for Apple's Graphical UI and foolproof OS. Time to switch to Windows 10, that seems to be way better.

We're all ticked off about this, but honestly, Windows 10 is way worse. Recently an update deleted documents of users. You can't even stop Windows 10 from updating itself (and rebooting), unless you have the Enterprise edition.

Yes same here iMac Mid 2011, High Sierra, V10.13.6. Software Update available 2018-002 10.13.6

Every time i try to install it iMac restarts with grey screen and NO ENTRY sign.

COME ON APPLE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

Its bad enough that we can't move upon to Mojave, and now the security updates don't work.

So, has anyone noticed if the newest security update supersedes the bad one? Security Update 2018-003 is out, and I wonder if those who haven't updated get the option for both 002 and 003, or just the most recent one?

I didn't write down the efi rom version before updating to see if this update also updates the firmware again.

I did not install 2018-002 and now 2018-003 shows as an available update. I also notice they got the file name itself correct by including "high" in the file name. The size of the download also shows correctly on the info page.

Anyone download and run yet?

Hi, I am having similar non-function problems on MP 2010 after the most recent ‘security update’ to 10.13.6. I scrolled thru many posts about this problem (won’t boot, can’t reboot, can’t reinstall, can’t run first aid, etc.) and someone referenced a post by you that seemed to solve the problem. Now I can’t locate it. If you know which informed post of yours they were referring to, could you send it along? Thanks.

With my Mac Mini medio 2011 the same problem

And I have a 3GB data limit, so can't even begin to get a later OS.😠

Same problem, with the security update on a 2012 Mac Pro, it will not fully shut down, even after multiple (hard) restarts. This is a real mess.

Same problem on my iMac late 2011 and on my MacMini Mid 2011 😤 Any idea how to solve?!
