What is rapportd 192.168.1.4

I receive the message: the computer “192.168.1.4” is attempting to access rapportd on your computer.

Should this be allowed or blocked?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

rapportd is a daemon that, among other things, facilitates text message forwarding and other Handoff functionality.

If your iMac is connected to the internet through a NAT router, it is inaccessible directly from the internet unless you have enabled port forwarding through your router. Unless you allow rogue devices to connect to your internal network, the firewall is superfluous.
