USB-C to TB-2 display

Dear Friends,

I have currently Thunder bold display which i brought in 2014, i connect with mac book pro via TB port and it is working fine for the past four years. I recently brought hP Pavilion laptop which has HDMI and USB-C port. I brought HDMI- miniDVI port adapter and connected TB display via cable to my laptop to HDMI port at my laptop, miniDVIport inserted well with thunderbolt port at the back of display but this arrangement does not work.

My main objective is to phase out mac book pro and use the thunderbolt display with my new laptop window 10 machine. I want to know anyway to make this work? that is connect USB-C to thunderbolt port at the back of my display. I am ready to buy adapter if that work.

Otherwise, if any procedure to make HDMI-miniDVI port to work with my laptop and display?

Please help.
