iPad Pro screen unresponsive
My iPad Pro screen is often unresponsive to touch with screen and keyboard. Reboot does not seem to help.

Do you use a glass screen protector?
Take it off.
These new iPad Pro models with the new liquid retina display do not like ANY type of screen protector on the screen.
Touch response is poor with any type of applied screen protector.
I tried turning 120 hz off, no success. And yes, I once left the ipad switched off for 2 weeks. I don’t remember how much time passed when I reencountered the issue again, but it returned. It always returns after whatever you do :)
There are few moments which make me doubt the software issue: some areas are affected more; the issue becomes more visible when charging. I cannot imagine how could it be related to software.
p.s. my mom also has fingertips health issues (sclerodermia), that’s painful :(
Tnx for this one!
Feels good to know I am not gaslighted.
Indeed, I also noticed that the iPad acts as if I had entered something, but I hadn’t.
So it went from unresponsive to overresponsive.
Mine is still on IOS 12.4.1 and I was about to get satisfied, when I discovered this anti-anomaly.
I,ll play some Hayday now ...
One question about the replacement devices. If Apple replaces my ipad, which components of the replacement ipad are new? Is it going to be 100% new device / device with new internals and pre-owned casing with scratches / device with pre-owned internals but new casing?
Wow, thanks! Will test this during prolonged period of time but can tell one ting for sure: the system is a little bit faster now. Might be so that faulty orientation sensor was spamming the system with false signals thus slowing it down.
Spitting on it fixes it "for a while." I tried following the "gyroscope fix," but it didn't last any longer than smacking it or just making it sit in a corner for a while.
I just did the spectacular iPad iOS upgrade, and seem to be having less trouble, so I'm being very gentle with the device to see whether that really is having an effect. I'm not optimistic, but still trying to give it the benefit of the doubt.
It does seem that the overheating is a downloading issue after all. My phone does the same thing. And since I play a game that sends a lot of information back and forth, the heat might be expected.
If the gyro thing has merit, maybe next time I have to replace this thing when the touchscreen quits, I'll be able to ask for one where they fixed the gyroscope rotation orientation feature.
That would be nice.
Does anyone still experience this issue in iOS 13.2? Surprisingly, the issue does not re-appear any longer and I don’t know why - is it due to winter time (temperature/air moisture combination) or Apple had some secret workaround in 13.2? Or due to the fact that I had used Apple pencil extensively during the last month?
Unbelievable, I am able to input this whole text without having to double-press even single time. Earlier I experienced missing keypresses at least for couple of times per sentence.
There do appear to be reports, in other community conversations, of this issue still occurring with iPadOS 13.2.x.
This may be tempting fate, but speaking of personal experience (having observed this problem myself), I am not currently suffering with this specific issue - and [thankfully] haven’t for some time.
I do not seem to be having much trouble since 13.2 either, and this iPad was starting to have issues before the upgrade. Gonna keep an eye on it but maybe something has changed.
Got more apps crashing, though. I assume their not upgraded yet.
Turning device on and off would temporarily solve the issue. As soon as you open 3 to 4 apps ... there you go again. Apple please fix this.
It looks like that resolve my issues, thanks, I'll test it for a few days and repost
Looks like you resolve my issue, thank you
It did not solve anything. For the first hour it seemed so but it started right back.
Thanks for the clarification
Left a report to apple, which seems the reasonable thing to do. Issue has become increasingly present. So frustrating for a unit paid over 2,000 bucks.
That’s an interesting observation.
Some contributors, reporting issues with touch screen response, suggest that reliability improves with contact with the iPad casing...
