Magic keyboard top row buttons only work when keyboard is plugged in. Option of ‘standard function keys’ in keyboard prefs also disappears when keyboard is unplugged. Tried reseting all connected factory devices and pairing them again. Reset NVRAM. Using a 2014 Imac with Mojave. Can't find any solution after many hrs of searching...Could use some help please.
Here are my installed apps. Can you see anything that might be an issue before I reinstall Mojave(it will take awhile)

I don't know if you can since the update wouldn't run. Which version of Mojave are you running now? You do have an Admin account?
Paired up the new keyboard to a new Macbook Air and everything works correctly with it and shows up in Keyboard viewer correctly. (The Swiss German/French only changes which accented letter is primary and which needs a shift key depending on the language used).
It's unlikely you would have plists in two different user accounts with the same problem.
You could try just installing the combo update and see if that works.
FWIW, unless you were running the app at the time it wouldn't be due to an app. I don't know all the apps you have in any case. But that's why you tested in Safe Mode so nothing running in the background would interfere.
I'll try the combo update first. I'm just wondering if I reinstall I will still have the problem if it is due to some app I have?
