ESPN.com won't load in Safari

I have not been able to get the ESPN home page to load on my primary MacBook Pro in Safari for a few days now. ESPN.com works perfectly in Chrome and other browsers on the same machine. Within Safari, the page and progress line hang before any page items are loaded. This is a fully-updated machine with the latest Mojave build (public release).

I have also killed browser privacy items related to ESPN its sister sites -- no change.

EDIT: I'll also add that I just tried using a Private browsing window and that WORKED.
