How to remove item from iphone calendar

I have a repeating event that was added several years ago and now I want to remove it but I can't figure out how to do it. There is no edit button, nor a delete button. I have been able to remove the alert on it but it still appears on the calendar. I've tried to find it on my iMac calendar but it doesn't appear there. Since that particular calendar doesn't show up on the Mac, I added the account but even that doesn't show up. I've tried everything I can think of and this should not be that hard but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions

No, it's not shared. Just me. It was just a reminder to deposit some checks I was receiving periodically and now that is finished. I can't understand why there is no delete button on the event.

you tap on it press edit then delete

I use iCloud calendar so that it will sync between my iMac computer and iphone. I found another recurring event that I cannot delete.

There is no edit or delete button which would make sense to have one. I have tried everything.

I'll try. I have checked every spot and I've also unchecked them but nothing changes. There's nothing on those calendars except for the one.

Okay, that seemed to turn off everything on that calendar. If I want to add something to it, won't all those things reappear?

No, there was nothing that said delete.

Yes, there was that but I wasn't sure I wanted to delete a calendar--just an event is what I wanted.
