At this time the Service Program is limited to 13".

however if at any time it is expanded to include your 15", typically Apple will issue a refund for out of pocket expenses for parts & labor... Having a service ticket will be your receipt..."affected by this issue, and you paid to have your display repaired, you can contact Apple about a refund."

I have dealt with the annoyance of a spotlight effect on my Macbook Pro 15" for over a year now. Randomly the backlight would go out too or not go on after opening. The only solutions I could find were to open an close it a few times (which I know may exacerbate the problem over the long term) or run my fingers along the back intersection where the screen meets the keypad and the faulty cable connects the two. Recently the backlight went out and could not be restored. My computer was rejected for the Macbook Pro 13" program and I was quoted $600+ for a screen replacement. Insofar that the same cable was used in both models, I can only assume that Apple is aware that both models are affected and decided that it was inconvenient to expand the program to include the 15". I hope that Apple will announce a program for the 15" this week, on the anniversary of its release. This will restore some faith in the company but either way, the product design and manner in which this issue has been handled is a huge disappointment.

I own two 15" 2016 MacBook Pro's. One just went from footlights to broken and the other will go to footlights past a certain point of opening. The amount of Apple products I own and have bought through the years is huge. As a known issue I find it deplorable that they will not offer a fix. These computers are just under two years old, it's pathetic!!!!! I will begin my migration back to the evil Windows if this is not resolved by Apple soon. The comments about Mr. Jobs are correct and someone at the company should take heed.

Same here. Have bought so many Apple products in the past couple years. My 2016 15" Macbook Pro that I owned since April 2017 has: (1) Faulty battery that needed to be replaced, (2) Faulty logic board that needed to be replaced, and now (3) a faulty display that won't turn on when opened past 45 degrees. Another $800 repair... No thanks. Time for Apple to take responsibility - absolutely ridiculous. If only they knew the customer they were losing as a result. Migrated to Windows two weeks ago. Has not been that bad to tell you the truth (it is certainly nice to have a working keyboard XD).

Same problem here on MacBook Pro 15' 2017. It's the third time i have problems with this laptop in one year. Logic board replaced twice... now is the display that shutdowns when opened more than 45 degrees.

I truly feel scammed about all this marketing.

Gone are the times when Apple was actually a remarkable company.... Where are you Steve Jobs?

This is ridiculous, an expensive laptop like this and then after 1.5 years, my keyboard is faulty, the speakers don't work properly and now this backlight issue. If my MacBook Pro 15" 2016 with touchbar is having the same issue as the 13" inch models why am i being charged $800 plus to repair it? I understand that a new design can have design flaws but at least take full responsibility for it!
