MacBook Pro 2017 15" kernel panic after going to sleep

Whenever my Mac goes to sleep it crashes with a kernel panic (when I press the power button I am greeted with a message along the lines of "your mac has restarted after a serious problem" or something to that extent.

After a successful boot I see the panic report which always is the same and begins with the lines:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7f8b739fcd): "Failed to quiesce supporting devices\n"@/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleACPIPlatform/AppleACPIPlatform-281.70.3/AppleACPIPlatformPower.cpp:1970

The rest of the Panic Report can of course be supplied if required.

The Mac runs macOS High Sierra and I have tried:

Disk first aid
Reinstall macOS
Reset the SMC

but to no avail. Every time the Mac goes to sleep, it kernel panics.

The problems came after I installed the latest security fix from Apple on July 10: Security update 2019-004 (beta for developers) and developer preview of Safari version 13.0, seed 2.

I have the T1 chip and the SMC reset did not fix the problem..

Are you still having this problem after upgrading to Mojave (10.14.6, you solve the problem only installing the last upgrade)?

Yes, unfortunately, I am still getting the same kernel panics. The upgrade to Mojave didn't change a thing.

Neither did installing a backup.

My MBP keeps crashing when it wakes up.

Happened to me too.

2017 MBP TB 13"

SMC reset seems to have fixed it for me. Just tried it both plugged in and on battery.

If someone succeeded with the SMC reset on a 2016 MBP TB 15" please report.

Does it only work on T2 chips, failing to reset the T1 chips?

I have received the same panic code on start up, when my laptop is asleep, but it awakes normally when attached to exterior power.

WORD OF CAUTION : If your running a Nvidia Card the "new" security update will break the macOS 10.13.6 (17G8029) driver... Updates the system to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G8030) .

Nope!

Next day the Panics came back. SMC reset only worked one day for me.

I guess I'll be downloading Mojave next.....

Installing new security update 2019-004 worked for only one day.

Kernel panic after going to sleep came back.

This problem hasn't been solved yet. SO SICK OF THIS
