Anyone else having their Dolby Vision content in iTunes and Netflix display distorted during certain scenes throughout movies.
Turning Match Content off, fixes it but it also removes the Dolby Vision, and only plays in HDR. Worked fine before the 12.4 update. I even spent the money on new Belkin HDMI cables (Belkin UltraHD 8K HDMI 2.1 Cables), from the apple store which did not help.

I have exactly the same fault. I have also bought the Belkin high speed cable from Apple, no better. During dark scenes it seems to ‘bloom’ the colours and can look like a painting almost. I have read that Dolby made some updates recently to correct some issues with hdmi implementation and that early Dolby enabled TVs may now be unsupported. However I have watched a couple of Netflix series in Dolby in the last few days using the Apple TV and there seems to be no issue at all with Dolby over HDMI to the LG 60UH850 and no issue using the smart TV app either. The problem seems to be isolated to iTunes Dolby Vision movies being streamed .
I does not seem that with Airplay you can play Dolby Vision content. In testing both airplay to my Apple TV 4K and to my airplay 2 supported Vizio it seems the content is SDR and not HDR/DV.
Do you have a specific time stamp and episode of Mindhunter? I have not watched this show, but would like to see if I experience the same thing with my setup.

That's my fear as well, that Apple TV just won't play Dolby Vision from the Apple Apps. Even when Movies Anywhere, Vudu and Netflix play Dolby Vision content without any problems.
I should also mention that I'm using the same Apple TV 4K that I used on the problem TV. It works fine on this TV.
It was series 1episode 7. Problem occurs at 34:17 and again at 35:20 onward. So bad I had to switch to smart TV.
I hadn’t thought of that and I’ll be very interested to know how you get on with the warranty claim as, I’m sure, will be many others
That sounds like a plan.With all the problems, not so sure an Apple TV is worth all that trouble.
This clearly can’t be true. Since the Vudu, Netflix,Movies Anywhere and no Disney+ plays Dolby vision just fine on the same Apple TV 4K. So this is an Apple implementation issue.
I can’t replicate this from that episode(S01E07) and time stamp on my 2018 Vizio P Series. So far I have only seen the issue mentioned in this thread in the Apple apps.
It is clear to me this is a problem with iTunes/TV App content. No problems with any other Dolby Vision media app, Movies Anywhere, Netflix or Vudu.
Same problem with a Philips 43PUS7304 and Apple TV+. No problem with Dolby Vision content on Disney+.
I saw that there was an issue with DV reported on Macrumours about Apple temporarily pulling DV content, and hoped this had fixed our problem. But not for me; I still have the same issue.
What tv are you using? I have a Vizio P65-F1 and I don’t believe I’ve received an update for the tv that would have fixed the issue.
