ios 13 and itunes support

Does anyone what Apple plans to do regarding itunes and ios 13 support? Apple released today itunes 12.10.0.7 for Windows users which presumably has ios 13 support but there has been no update for mac users. I am running High Sierra 10.13.6

I remember last year Apple made it really complicated for Mac users because they installed ios 12 on their phones but itunes was not recognizing the phone when it was connected. Everyone had to figure out how to get things working again when Apple released a software update to get itunes to recognize ios 12. It was a big pain.

I've also been able to connect and backup my iOS 13 device in High Sierra using iTunes 12.6.5.3, which is the last version that supports app management or can restore iPod clickwheel games to an iPod classic.

I recently tried using iTunes 12.6.5.3 in High Sierra to rearrange some apps to check that it still worked, and all was going well right up to the point where I wanted to commit the changes. Then I was informed that there were apps on the device that my library wasn't authorised for, and which would be removed. Reauthorizing the computer didn't help. I've also seen another post with similar symptoms. It is therefor possible that Apple have made changes which break iTunes 12.6.5.3 compatibility in iOS 13. If you want to move forward to iOS 13 you may have to give up app management in iTunes.

I spent almost 5 hours chatting and on the phone with Apple's Mac and IOS "experts". I had the same problem. They told me that because my Mac OS is El Capitan and iTunes 10.8.2.3 are not compatible with the iOS 13. The software is "not compatible" was the final response I got after the 5th person trying to help me. After about 15 minutes searching with different, more specific criteria, I found this. Instant gratification.

So much for Apple's "experts". I could tell while talking to the guy on the phone he was just looking at websites and couldn't find El Capitan and iOS 13 on the same page, so he told me they were incompatible. What a waste of time.

THANK YOU! Running MobileDeviceUpdater finally solved iTunes not recognizing my phone! I had been through all possible software updates and the troubleshooting steps Apple published on the support pages. The same problem has been vexing me for years, every time any software updates happen on any piece of the puzzle, I can't connect my phone to my computer. Then like once in 5 tries I get lucky and can connect. This time I just got lucky with searching different keywords that led me to this post. How do I get level 10 wizard powers like yours?

My desktop has iTunes 12.8 and my iphone 8 has iOS 13.3 and my iPhone wont show up on itunes. Before i updated to ios 13, i had ios 12 and itunes recognized my phone. But as soon as i updated my phone to ios 13, thats when my phone would no longer show up on itunes. My desktop recognizes my iPhone by opening the photos app when plugged in, but will no longer show up on my iTunes.

Any thoughts on what the problem is? Possibly if iOS 13 & iTunes 12.8 cant somehow match up?

Thanks! I might just try that, although I just updated to High Sierra from El Cap today and presume that already gave me experience with two different versions of iTunes, neither of which worked.

When you reinstall iTunes it doesn't mess up all the preferences, playlists, etc, does it? And do you have to delete iTunes before re-installing it?
