Missing pop3 email sent folder at IOS13

I just updated to IOS13 and now my sent folder POP3 email account disappeared. Now only showing and inbox and drafts folder. Anyone experiencing this problem? Any idea how to get it back? Hope Apple fix this quick as it’s obviously IOS13 issue!

Hi. I fixed my issue as follows:

1. Download 13.1

2 Delete and re-create your POP account

3. send an email.

4 Write and save an email.

5 Trash an email

ALL MAILBOXES CAME BACK!

Hi coldwaves. I’m curious as to whether you lost your entire inbox when you first upgraded to ios13. That’s how my problems started. I lost a few thousand emails stored on my iPhone. Fortunately they were also stored on my iPad (still on ios12) which I’m now too scared to update to ios13 incase my stored inbox emails disappear from there too.

I called Apple support regarding the drafts not saving issue a week ago, and they had me install 3 profiles on my iPhone, do a screen recording of the issue, and he ran diagnostics.

Just heard back, with what appears to be a work around fix. It worked for me, even after shutting down and restarting iPhone.

Open photos, tap select in upper right corner, select a photo, tap share (up arrow in lower left corner), use mail, then tap cancel, save draft. Went to mail draft folder and draft was saved.

Went to mail app, saved a draft, and the draft was saved in draft folder. The support person I spoke to said saving a draft from the photo app apparently created the code that the mail app needs to save drafts from the mail app.

He's communicating to engineering, so hopefully this will be addressed in the next update, but for now, those experiencing this annoying issue can the use the above.

Let us know if this works for you as well.

No--not a joke. As I said this was recommended by the Apple phone support guy.

It worked for me, and hasn't reverted to the bad behavior since (only been a day, but I've quit the mail app several times, and restarted the iPhone several times, and still good).

Have you tried it yourself?

Just trying to pass along my experience in the hopes it would help the community.

I tried the thing with the photo, and it did work, but only until I close the email application and re-opened it, then it was gone again. The other huge issue as far as I’m concerned is the fact that I have lost very important drafts and cannot figure out a way to get them back, even though I have already deleted the email app and reinstalled it, and done everything suggested here. The only thing I haven’t done is actually call my pop3 email provider which is EarthLink and see if they have any ideas.

The drafts folder and saving drafts works on my Gmail which is not a pop3 account and on my work email, so it’s definitely a pop three problem, and I am assuming that Apple just doesn’t support it anymore? You would think with as many people as have pop3 emails they would at least tell you ahead of time that the new update will not support it anymore.

I understand what you say but trying to save one email with photo to draft dosent resolve any issue and is not different than to just save a draft, with or without photo...............

Sorry to hear it didn't work for you, but it did for me, and hopefully for some others who see it as well. Good luck.

The sent, drafts & trash folders are local folders (on the phone only, not the server) with POP3, so once you uninstalled the email app or delete a specific POP3 account on the phone, you lose all local folder data, unlike IMAP.
