Unable to rearrange app icons in ios 13

turn off the ******* zoom that's why it doesn't work, totally messed up my phone after the update

Neil, yeah zoom sometimes does that for me too. Even in older iOS. Versions. The only solution I found was to go to the lock screen or press home button. Then it was ok when I started again. HTH

Its still a major bug. I need the zoom function enabled because i need it to use my phone. So this means i would have to disable that function before i rearrange the icons then reenable the function again. What a pain.

I had the same issue. Thank you for figuring this out. It worked fine without the magnifier enabled, but I need this for my disability. Apple should fix this right away. I just upgraded to iOS 13.1.3 and it is still not fixed.

Then I'd suggest a scheduled visit to your Apple Store Genius Bar.

someone posted that the recent update fixed it. I’m waiting to install that in case there are more bugs. In the meantime you only have to turn zoom off to move the icon. Then you turn it back on.

Can you move the icon to a different place on the screen? The video you posted specifically shows you trying to move it to the dock, not just to a different place on the screen.

Is your phone a company phone, or do you manage your icon placement via iTunes?

You're not pressing hard enough. It's definitely tricky.

I tried what everyone suggested and pushed extremely hard once i got the app to where i wanted it on the screen. I was able to get it to work once...and only once. Why do i have to push so hard on my screen??? I really hate this new update for making me feel like i'm going to break my screen every time i want to move an app!

If anyone is still suffering from this bug:

A) You apparently have iOS gear Apple has not tested or for which they’ve coded a solution,

OR

B) You haven’t updated to the latest version of iOS,

It is always important to designate what hardware you’re using as many bugs, certainly this one, are hardware specific. As I’ve pointed out in the thread, this bug was solved for iPhone 7 hardware. It’s done and gone. The bug does not affect any of Apple’s most recent iOS devices. What devices are still affected, if any? If users are not applying the patched versions of iOS, why not?

And is there some other factor we’re missing here that’s allowing the bug to continue on some devices? If so, we need to get Apple moving on it. Thankfully, this and similar incidents are inspiring Apple to sort out their software coding and testing methods.

Same for me. I turned off zoom. Apps move but they don’t stay where I put them. Incredibly annoying!
