Unable to rearrange app icons in ios 13

Reboot didn't help me. Same behavior as before. To answer W. Kucharski, mine's just my private phone and I haven't been able to arrange my home screen in iTunes for quite a while. Also, this is happening while moving icons anywhere on the screen and between screen pages, not only to the dock.

I have EXACTLY the same problem. It is driving me mad. I have done a full restore of my iphone. Updated to iOS 13.1 today. I have switched off the Zoom function as suggested above. Nothing works. I am unable to re-arrange apps. It works fine on my wife's phone (same model iPhone 8), and on my daughter's (iPhone 6s). But not mine - this is not a user error, it is an iOS 13 bug.

Thank you for your post. I was waiting to hear from someone who did a clean install of iOS to see if it's related to an upgrade over an existing version. sorry to hear you couldn't resolve this. Be sure to report this to Apple, if you haven't already.

Bug was resolved with latest iOS update patch - now NFC chip non functioning — I can’t use ApplePay $#%!!! Thanks Apple! I went to Apple’s Genius Bar, the tech openly admitted iOS 13 is super buggy - best option offered to me for my 6s Plus was to trade it in and spend $400 on an 8 Plus — Thanks Apple!!!

If the first page of your folder is full you have to move an icon out before you move another in. When you move an icon in from desktop it goes to the first available space. If your first page is full it goes to second page and so on. You can still move icons around within a page easily

Can you move the icon to a different place on the desktop? You're specifically trying to move it to the dock.

That was my experience exactly. I've not retrained my motor skills and moving apps is now a cinch.

Did you try PaulTJ’s suggestion of turning off the 3 finger Accessibility Zoom?

Same problem. Don't know if Apple changed the procedure or if the new iOS is broken. Almost impossible to move icons on the Home Screen. Sometimes, if you move an icon onto the exact perfect pixel, it will start to jiggle again and stay in place but most times it will stay frozen (not jiggling) where you place it and when you press the home button it goes back to where it started. VERY frustrating bug in the new iOS.

No, it doesn’t work on my iPhone. I think maybe I have too many apps. But there is no new type of touch to make it work. Also I tried disabling 3dtouch in settings to avoid confusion but stills nothing. If you take a moment to watch my video you will see that I can move the app wherever I want. The problem is the app doesn’t stay there, and after a while goes back to its original place. I saw videos in which there is a “done” button to press when finished rearranging. I never have that button on my screen. I think iOs13 needs another 15 minutes in the oven to be considered a release candidate.

I’m an ex Rugby player. I can grab a ball and keep it. I have enough force in my fingers to do THAT. So trust me, I push hard. But no. Doesn’t work, or maybe I have to push hard enough to bend the iPhone in order to make it to work??
