When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app (specifically a "live/Hotmail" account) in iOS 13, it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete. I have to press the delete button again for it to actually delete. Anyone else having issues with this? I deleted and re-added the affected account, but it still does it.

Thanks!

I’m having the exact same issue since updating to iOS 13. Have to delete emails twice before they are actually deleted - very annoying!!

None of the 3 patches to date has solved the issue. iPhone XS with 13.1.2. The email account is Hotmail/Outlook.com

I’ve even tried deleting the whole account off the phone and re-adding it, but it has not solved the issue.

Apple please acknowledge this issue and provide a fix ASAP!

Same issue here. Running 13.1.2 and deleted all email accounts and recreated.

I tend to never delete anything. But I have to open emails twice to have them marked as read. I think it’s the same issue first time you open is not properly linked and any action (reading, forwarding or deleting does not happen the first time).

Thinking of switching to Outlook App.

Curious if anyone is experiencing other issues as well? I think they're all linked somehow because it's all double-like. I have to double delete emails and emails I send from my phone appear to have sent twice from the phone but really only send once, my safari browser has an issue when I go to open a new page or close an open page it disappears and I have to do it a second time to open or close for real, and just now multiple voicemails I had deleted days ago just reappeared as 'unread' voicemails. Also a few apps like Ecobee, which updated for iOS 13, will not even open - maybe they will after another app update. I may jettison iOS 13 and go back to iOS 12.4.1 for now but I'm hoping apple will fix this soon, I'll give it one more week. I don't think this is specifically email/microsoft related.

Also the issue didn’t get fixed in 13.1 either (which when I thought was a main reason for when I saw had been released)

im using hotmail account on an iPhone 6s plus

I think this is an issue with how iOS 13 mail app interacts with LDAP type email accounts

please can you guys update if you are using any other type of account (gmail, yahoo, MS Exchange etc) ie non MSN type email acc

QUESTION TO FORUM VETERANS : How can those suffering from this bug form a united front and press Apple on this issue?

Workaround : swipe to delete seems to work from mail inbox (so read your emails first and go back to inbox view to swipe delete any you want to trash)

It’s happened to me to. I’ve got over 3000 emails suddenly reappeared. When I moved emails to the bin I didn’t have the option to empty the bin. The only options are move, mark or archive. If I go to each email individually in the bin then I have the option to move to the trash can but I can’t do this with the thousands of emails that have reappeared from years ago

This is what worked for me. I compared my mail settings to my wife’s phone, which worked fine. I turned on 2 settings that my wife’s phone had turned on but mine didn’t, Organize by Thread and Complete Thread. I also turned on Preview 2 lines.

My mail worked fine after this. I then reset them back to their original settings and I still don’t have duplicate emails anymore.

it’s possible that changing any Mail setting may correct the duplicate mail issue. issue

It's more than an email issue for me, but changing settings and changing them back may work for some. I fixed my ecobee app issue with iOS 13 by doing that. The issues are strange and intermittent which is probably why apple hasn't fixed it yet. I haven't posted here in a week or two, still having issues though. Decided not to go back to iOS 12.4.1. I haven't had old emails reappear fortunately, that would be a biotch. However I have had old voicemails reappear since 13.1.2. Every other day, voicemails that I delete come back as if I hadn't listened to them and I have to delete them again. These issues are annoying af

This has worked for me so far by turning off complete thread.

I did at one point have old emails appear and switched to the outlook app for a few days (which I hated!) and the issue seemed to resolve its self.

not that i like the updated iOS version much better that I need to do extra clicks to move emails to folders after getting rid of the quick buttons at bottom of email.

Clearly there is something going on with mail app and hotmail service and that is what our engineering department is trying to address. Hopefully the data we gathered will be enough for them to identify all those issues that you, or even other users might be experiencing.

As soon I get a reply from engineering I will get to you again.

I will keep you all posted

I am experiencing the same (Hotmail-related) problem as basically everybody else here, since I bought my iPhone11 a month ago. Having to delete emails twice, having to move them to folders multiple times, sometimes not being able to move them the second time around to the desired folder.

As of today my iPhone 11 is also sending double emails to the recipients. Yippee...!

Apple please fix this, ASAP! It is extremely annoying as I use my email account heavily.

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete
