When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app (specifically a "live/Hotmail" account) in iOS 13, it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete. I have to press the delete button again for it to actually delete. Anyone else having issues with this? I deleted and re-added the affected account, but it still does it.

Thanks!

Update, 13.1.1 did resolve the issue. Tested with a few more emails after my post above.

This has worked for me so far by turning off complete thread.

I did at one point have old emails appear and switched to the outlook app for a few days (which I hated!) and the issue seemed to resolve its self.

not that i like the updated iOS version much better that I need to do extra clicks to move emails to folders after getting rid of the quick buttons at bottom of email.

I upgraded my iPad from 13.1.2 to 13.2 last night and this morning the iPad is behaving well. I’m not having to delete emails twice at the moment that’s for sure. It still doesn’t download the emails until you enter the mailbox though. That’s pretty annoying on its own. Hoping my phone will behave better when that’s updated later.

this really annoys me, as I pay a lot per month for two devices on a business contract, and am unable to use them as intended. It’s really not good enough. The update included pointless additions and killed the mail app. Apple, you currently suck.

Apple have given up in fixing this for us.

I am raging. Just received a call from my support agent. Engineering have responded and have said it’s not a Apple fault and for me to contact outlook. I stressed I had already contacted outlook and they won’t discuss/give any support for iOS mail only the official outlook app.

i mentioned the forum with 100s of users with the same issue, again referred to outlook for further support.

support agent said engineering had tested everything with iOS mail iCloud email works etc and basically said it’s a problem with outlook and not the Apple device.

contact outlook for support.

I’m seeing this when connected to an office 365 account. Messages need to be opened twice to be marked as read. Also, new unread email needs to be deleted twice in order to actually be deleted. The problem began with iOS 13 and has persisted through 13.2. I’ve submitted feedback to Apple on every version upgrade in between. I have not received a response and the problem continues. Please submit bug reports for this and make some noise!

I am saying the end user is responsible for logging in to their mail account. Office 365/Outlook/Exchange or Gmail. They need to look at device management within their own account and make sure any duplicates or stale objects are removed. Apple cannot be expected for a software update to do this for you.

As I have suggested earlier, I have done this and the problems have gone away.

I worked with an Apple tech for over a half hour on this issue and did an extensive amount of troubleshooting. Apple was very receptive to this being an issue they need to address. Ultimately, once I updated my mail account and managed my devices, the problem was resolved.

I have reported this issue three times since ios13 was released. As others have stated, this is not the apple of old; They are apathetic and embarrassingly negligent in supporting their own operating system. When I reached a senior support specialist today (my 3rd time contacting about this), I was told it is a problem with outlook and Gmail not updating their API to accommodate iOS 13. The support specialist assured me it is a known issue, but passed the buck to Microsoft (and Google, I suppose), and offered no prediction as to when it might be resolved.

if you are reading this forum and have not contacted Apple support with a complaint, please do so now. It primarily affects business users (those using 365), which constitute a minority of Apple users. If we don’t all speak up in unison, there will be no impetus to address this problem.
