When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app (specifically a "live/Hotmail" account) in iOS 13, it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete. I have to press the delete button again for it to actually delete. Anyone else having issues with this? I deleted and re-added the affected account, but it still does it.

Thanks!

Update, 13.1.1 did resolve the issue. Tested with a few more emails after my post above.

I do not exactly know why this forum / discussion group exists... I’m following it some time now to see what it brings to the readers, the only thing I see is repeatedly writing the same frustration about some SERIOUS issues regarding the native email app since IOS 13.

Also I understand that there is no link between the content of this forum and actual Apple engineering department. A lot “noise” here that’s true, but really?? Even Microsoft has some seniors / people reading their forum groups.

Anyway, from all facts and frustrations here, I try to narrow it down to some conclusion what’s actually going on since IOS 13 regarding the NATIVE EMAIL APP.

1: e-mail messages need to be deleted twice to get deleted.

2: a e-mail message needs to be opened twice to get the status (blue point) from unread to read

3: e-mails need to be closed en opened again several times (sometimes more then twice) before it is possible to FORWARD OR REPLYING it without loosing the original body / text.

4: What I am not sure about: are “ONLY” users affected that have a Microsoft E-mail account so outlook.com hotmail.com live.nl etc etc.

I invite readers to reply on my message if they experience this issues while NOT having a email account with Microsoft.

I hope that - pre-chewing this information SOMEBODY of you readers (moderator?) can forward the results to Apple support somehow. Yes somebody can - of course....

No I am NOT getting in contact myself - reading to much here about ignoring this serious problems...

And IF it has something to do with active sync or other Microsoft protocol: It all worked just fine until I installed IOS 13.... And we users should not be busy with this:

FIX IT !!!!!

I fixed it. I deleted the Mail app and then downloaded the Outlook app and use that instead.

My ipad is is using iOS 12.4 etc and the Mail app works fine.

To be fair the Mail app in iOS 13 is cumbersome with the shortcuts being removed or an extra step involved.

This is not the first time iOS mail is faulty. I still remember iphone 4, 5S and 6 having issues with Exchange until a fix was made.

if I hadn’t sold my X and bought a 11 pro max I would not of updated.

Apple really screwed up with iOS 13. Unlucky for us.

Curious if anyone is experiencing other issues as well? I think they're all linked somehow because it's all double-like. I have to double delete emails and emails I send from my phone appear to have sent twice from the phone but really only send once, my safari browser has an issue when I go to open a new page or close an open page it disappears and I have to do it a second time to open or close for real, and just now multiple voicemails I had deleted days ago just reappeared as 'unread' voicemails. Also a few apps like Ecobee, which updated for iOS 13, will not even open - maybe they will after another app update. I may jettison iOS 13 and go back to iOS 12.4.1 for now but I'm hoping apple will fix this soon, I'll give it one more week. I don't think this is specifically email/microsoft related.

I’m having the exact same issue when I updated to iOS 13 and it’s very annoying. I have to double tap delete and wait till it’s marked as read (blue dot disappears)

Also the issue didn’t get fixed in 13.1 either (which when I thought was a main reason for when I saw had been released)

im using hotmail account on an iPhone 6s plus

I have the same issue.. have to delete emails twice. My email is a live.com email (a microsoft email - non exchange). I'm using iOS 13.1.3.

Also, sometimes the email badge count will show I have two or however many unread emails but when I open the Mail app there is nothing there and i have to refresh it once or twice to bring the emails in. Very annoying.

This on top of an apparently long standing issue where when you select photos or a pdf file to be attached to an email using the Mail app, when it sends the attachment through the Mail app using the microsoft email the recipient receives the attachement plus another attachment that is the signature. It looks like at.00000.t. I've tested it thoroughly on 4 different iphones with 4 different email providers (recipients). If Samsung's email app can do it right certainly Apples can.

Very frustrating. I really like the Mail app other wise.. well designed and fast. I prefer it over Gmail or outlook app (they seem to have the same attachment issue since it seems to be related to microsoft email) but this whole microsoft email business makes me consider going back to android since samsungs app has no problem with it and makes it work with Microsoft even if it is something on Microsofts end which is the usual excuse.

Same issue with newer version - having to delete emails twice. is anyone having email thread issues? now I can't see the entire email thread and when I forward an email it drops the thread as well. I checked settings and my Complete Threads is set to On. The only time I can see threads is if I enable Organize by Thread which is annoying and I never used before in past.

Agree this is a terrible bug to miss in testing.
