When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app (specifically a "live/Hotmail" account) in iOS 13, it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete. I have to press the delete button again for it to actually delete. Anyone else having issues with this? I deleted and re-added the affected account, but it still does it.

Thanks!

We all hope the commercial release fixes our problems.

Thing about beta is if you are testing it you already agreed not to talk about it in your NDA, and if you ask about it you are soliciting testers to break their NDA. By definition the final release will be different to the beta anyway.

So there is no point discussing it, is there?

By saying that it's part of the NDA you are breaking the NDA...

In my discussions with Apple support, a senior tech and enterprise support, it still seems like they are not acknowledging the problem. I’m hoping they are taking our feedback and doing something with it. With iOS 13 came a total revamp of the mail app, I’m remaining optimistic that they are working on it. Maybe we’ll see it fixed in 13.3.

UWPTS79 you hit the nail on the head. An added side symptom I am having is emails that are critical are being placed in the trash.

so I had enough and contacted support chat, they couldn’t handle the issue. Yes I did not get notification of 13.2.2 availability. So updated it tested the emails and it failed to correct email issue.

I went back to chat they passed me along to senior support but the genius sent me to tier 1 support. Then I got transferred to senior support after setting up a time to call me, as no one was available. Instead of calling me in 30 minutes the phone rang right away and again 30 minutes later. The SENIOR support person confirmed that NO company wide notice has been published to the support people resources. She was nice so I don’t want to sound bad. But she acted like I was the first person to report the issue. I made reference to this forum and the huge number of posts here. It was like I just didn’t say anything. I repeated it 3 times. Finally got the, “oh ya, I don’t think anyone from support directly monitors it. So sometime next week I am suppose to get a reply. If something earth shattering occurs I will be sure to post it here. the iOS & tested the emails and it failed to correct email issue.

They have to know. Several people from this forum alone have submitted the issue. One of the enterprise support reps suggested I set up the phone after a factory reset as new instead of restoring from a backup. I don’t know about anyone else, but that would be a royal pain for me. Too many apps and configurations to set up. I’d be busy for a week. I said sorry, that’s not a solution. Even if it corrected the problem. It just means their code isn’t very good. Also some of the comments on this thread indicate it doesn’t solve it anyway.

I fixed it. I deleted the Mail app and then downloaded the Outlook app and use that instead.

My ipad is is using iOS 12.4 etc and the Mail app works fine.

To be fair the Mail app in iOS 13 is cumbersome with the shortcuts being removed or an extra step involved.

This is not the first time iOS mail is faulty. I still remember iphone 4, 5S and 6 having issues with Exchange until a fix was made.

if I hadn’t sold my X and bought a 11 pro max I would not of updated.

Apple really screwed up with iOS 13. Unlucky for us.

But not to announce bad news. But lately I have been using calendar every 30 minutes or so. It at times freezes up and or sends my appointments to some unknown place. If I recall enough detail I can locate it. But sometimes it is gone all together.

and yes my mail nightmare continues. The emails that are not suppose to be deleted are sometimes moved to trash after reading them and they are the ones that are right before or after the deleted email. What is going on? :)

So a week goes by and I hear nothing from my senior AppleCare rep. She promised a phone call in a week with or without any updated news and to see if things got better or worse for me. Here is the letter I sent her tonight:

Howdy! Any updates ? The emails are still not deleting and worse yet the email app grabs random emails and puts them in the trash. Yes the ones that are usually important. I just busted the app doing it and made a screen shot trail of what occurred.

And I also experiencing problems with calendar events. Not appearing or overlapping each other onscreen.

I purchased an android phone as my confidence in the iPhone is shaken to the core

Let talk soon. Or send me an email.

Thanks much

i didn’t tell her this, but as clunky as the android phone is to use and learn, it is kinda cool and fun to learn a new OS.

Peter, Peter, Peter. The iPhone is not old it’s the latest model

the factory reset is the common fix it all but the hours it takes to do it is daunting. If the iOS engineers did their testing we should have these widespread problems. And those that have done the factory reset have reported that it did nothing to resolve the problems.

But the Android phone did take away the anxiety of dead battery or the whole iPhone melting down.

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete
