When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app (specifically a "live/Hotmail" account) in iOS 13, it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete. I have to press the delete button again for it to actually delete. Anyone else having issues with this? I deleted and re-added the affected account, but it still does it.

Thanks!

Although I use the Outlook app already on my iPhone I’ve always used the ‘mail’ app on my ipad. Looks like I’m going to have to stick with Outlook now as Mail is crap now 😕. But one thing I can do with Mail is select to have a warning before deleting. In the Outlook app I can’t see how to turn this on - been looking in Settings but nope. Sigh.

What is the MATTER with Apple not fixing the mail app problem 🙄

So glad some had success. Pete my iPhone still is not deleting emails and marking some as unread. Have yet to see if auto trashing of emails is still going on.

I wish I could cuss on here. I could unleash ****. Not one word from AppleCare with the email I sent my sr support representative.

pete how is the battery life with your 6s? Have you had the battery replaced?

I tried outlook and every time you’re reading an email and delete, it takes you back to the inbox. I need to delete then open next email and delete. I think the apple email client, even with the doh Le delete issue is STILL ether than outlook on iPhone.

but anyway, the double delete issue seems to have cured itself yesterday, for me. Thanks!

Hi Gk5186,

Regarding the Outlook cliënt: of course you go back to the inbox after deleting a message you just read. And isn’t it logical to open and read the the next message before you delete it ? If you want to delete one or (many) more messages in ONE time, just touch one of the messages for a longer time. You get in to a multiple SELECT mode where you can select alle messages you want, and deleted them in one sequence if this is what you want.

I was getting really frustrated from the IOS mail app issues (including all messages from this discussions group) that I started to use this Microsoft app. And I am enthousiast to work with it trouble free.

I definitely recommend using it !

(Sorry for the Apple junkies / fans :))

I was talking to Childs71. If someone replies to the very first post with a "me too" when the thread is resolved for most people then that someone probably never got past page 1

If you still have your problem after 13.2.3 then it is probably a different problem as I think you suspect.

Dont make this personal, my name is peter_watt.

I would agree.

As much as 13.2.3 has fixed some major issues with the Mail app, the Unread message indicator appears to behave correctly for the first message but when I tap the up-arrow to the next message, it remains Unread unless I physically refresh the screen. This behavior did not exist prior to iOS 13 at least in my case.

Also, messages sent from my iPhone still show twice in the Sent items.

As much as this latest release fixed a lot of things, not all was fixed in my opinion. But enough to make the app useable again.

Well they finally buried the delete fix in the list. After all of us complaining and getting zero admission of fault. All the people who had to do a useless factory reset for days of reinstalling the iPhone. Why!? Not even the android phone that I got as a back up is this bad.

i am still having to pull good emails that are critical from the trash. Placed there without my doing. iOS issue. Hope that is fixed. If not they are going to pay me big time.

When I'm trying to delete an email out of the Mail app it looks like it is deleting, but then doesn't delete
