How to disable “one more minute” on Screen Time?

I had a chat with support today 12/9- there is still no solution to this issue and the person i chatted with suggested I contact one of the engineers and that they read all suggestions. Praying this gets resolved quickly to make screentime useful again.

here’s the thing you can’t disable it but if you set up time limits for the apps to one minute then after that you have to block after limit once that’s on the “one more minute” option is no more now they have to enter in the screen time password that YOU set

I figured it out!!!!add time limits to one minute on all categories and make sure you put lock on after downtime so the kid will only have one chance at the “one minute option” so after the limit the kid will be require a password

With the update, if your child is 13 or older, they get the ‘1 more minute’ option. To disable this you have to login to their appleid account and change their birth year. If your child is 13 or older, the update takes away a lot of the security measures. Change their age to 12 or younger and they’re still considered a child, so security measures remain.

I was told by apple that if it is no longer a child account, 13 and under, they can hit "one more limit" for an unlimited amount of time. If they have a child account, 13 and under, then they can only hit "one more minute" a singel time. A senior support staff told me that is how they intend for it to work and are not working on a fix. The only work around would be to change your kids age to be 13 or youger. I have yet to test this....

Workaround - I put most of apps that my kids don't' use in 'Always allowed' so those apps don't require password. Then every morning I go MYSELF to screen time app and use the 'one more minute' option and for rest of the day screen time requires password

I think that if your child has his/her own iCloud account then s/he should only be able to use “one more minute” once. If it’s set up as an adult account with screen time YOU enabled on it (or maybe you are sharing an account), then there are indefinite “one more minutes” your child can use. The obvious solution to this problem would be to use the Apple Family feature (if possible) so you can properly set up screen time. I’m not an expert but I think this is a valid idea and you could try it. You also get controls over app purchases and more when you do this so it’s something to consider. BTW, the accounts are free :)

It occurred w one of the latest iOS updates. When my child turned 13 (last week) ALL the security measures changed, from access and ability to download any and all apps, to changing what type of apps they could download (12+ vs 17+), to adding the 1 more minute. I logged in to their appleid & changed the birth year to 2008, and the security measures were back in place.

At night at least you can choose the “Block at Downtime” option in the screen time page. You have to select it at the bottom.

No, thats the whole point. They can keep doing ‘one more minute’ even if you ‘block’ after limits are set.

You can block all apps instead. There is an option of allow all. Allow 4+ 17 + etc or block all apps.

then they have a very few limitated apps to try the one minute funcion.
