iOS 13 audio cuts out

Anyone else experiencing this? I am playing music from the music app and when I try to launch new apps or work in other apps, my phone’s audio output drops a few times before returning to normal. Also, audio sounds much louder in my headphones. At first, I thought this was an improvement but now it is annoying.

Had the same issue, sound cuts in and out I keep having my music go silent but the song keeps playing, even when I press on a song, I had to wait a few seconds for it to start playing.

Just update to IOS 13.6 and the problem has been solved.

Apple should be more careful about updating without observing problems that may cause to several Apple designed apps.

Yikes! After reading through 4 pages of comments, stemming back from Oct. 2019, It’s seems there is still an issue with audio dropping/randomly cutting out.

I’ve been streaming The Morning Show on a new iPad 7th gen and the audio consistently cuts out. Pausing and then selecting the 15 second back button (once or twice), or exiting out of the app and restarting seems like the only way to generate the audio, however it’s only temporary.

I have even deleted and reloaded the Apple TV App, after having issues with playback issues. If anyone knows of a fix or tips on resolving audio randomly cutting out please share.

Note:

• Experiencing only w/Apple TV+

•Using an Apple Digital A/V lightning

adapter to cast on TV. (purchased 1 wk. ago from Best Buy).

Hi Joseph,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, restarting my phone and force quitting has not resolved the issue. I haven’t experienced it without using headphones but this has only been an issue since I updated to iOS 13. The volume situation has also remained the same. There are a few other bugs I should mention. When I press on a song, I have to wait a few seconds for it to start playing, whereas in iOS 12, the song immediately started. Also, the volume control button used to be remarkably smooth when I would drag it with my finger, but now it is occasionally unresponsive and stiff.

I’m sorry to report so many issues but I was highly impressed with how my phone was working before and now it is behaving rather oddly.

Thank you!

I'm having the same issue and it only started after I did the update..

Not just my music on my Phone but also Apple Music and apps like Pandora.

I was using my headphones fine with no cuts.

The song stops and sound cuts and when it comes back its right where the song left off.

I have already quit apps and restarted my phone. I also tried 2 other sets of headphones and same problem.

This is iOS 13.1.2 update.

I have the same issue with my IPhone 11Pro. It happened suddenly with no clear reason.

Restoring the phone is not a feasible solution. Apple always throws this at their customers and they don’t realize how much work and frustration is involved.

I will be listening to a song on iTunes (doesn’t make a difference if it’s off Apple Music or downloaded directly) and the song stops. I hit play and it doesn’t react. I can watch a YouTube and listen to Audible without issue.

Is this an ITunes issue? Everything is updated to latest versions so please don’t suggest that as a solution. I’ve turned off my phone and restarted.

thank you.

I have exactly the same problem. While watching Facebook videos and other streaming the audio cuts out while video playing. I have to cycle the mute button off and on to get audio back. Very frustrating. I reinstalled Facebook app and it went away for some time but now the problem is back. It only seems to mostly happen when using wireless headphones.

Okay... Yes, and recent updates to OS10 Catalina on MacBook Pro are buggy too. It is very frustrating considering how much Apple gadgets cost. Makes me wonder what I’m paying for. It is the design, the “look”, the “cool” factor methinks.

My advice?

Go straight to your closest Apple Genius Bar and DON’T let them fob you off. I’ve had a couple of issues over the years and persistence paid off eventually.

Tell them you want the reimbursment etc, ... I’d ask for a replacement phone.

I did this with an iPad a few years back because the charging function would simply cut out and I’d go back assuming it was charged up and it had cut out after 30% approx.

I went back 3 times and eventually said that i didn’t want this model (12.9 Pro 1st gen) and let them know that I was sick of coming back to the store all the time and what were they going to do about it.

They replaced the iPad with a gen 2, and, problem solved.

Good luck!

I have done everything. Including resetting my friggen phone. No matter what audio app that I am using, when I open or close other apps on my phone (Amazon most consistently) the audio cuts out for about 1 To 1 1/2 seconds. Been doing it for about two months now. I first thought it was the new Bluetooth speaker that I had almost sent back until I was listening to a podcast through the speakers on my phone and it happened again. I can guarantee that it will happen every time that I minimize the Amazon app after opening it and then again when I close the Amazon app. However it seems to do it randomly as well. I thought maybe because I had received a message of some sort but I have not been able to confirm that. W the French Toast?
