Mickey and Minnie stop talking (saying the time), the "allow watch to speak time" option disappeared

tried everything suggested and what worked for me was went to clock und speak time turned it off waited a bit turned it back on and selected always speak

Apple is not here and will not see this. You need to click on the Contact Support link at the top right of this page and contact Apple Support directly to report the issue. Since this problem is not happening with all Watches, and some of the fixes are working for some here but not for others, the only way Apple can fix it is to see what is happening with your Watch.

Hello, because I still don't listen to Mikey or Minie, I've followed all the steps and nothing at all, since I updated the iPhone and the watch to the new versions, it doesn't work for me. What works for me is that in other areas I press with two fingers if it tells me the time.

This is very helpful. I finally got Mickey to speak. I also don’t know what I did to make it work but like you I started to mess around with all voice related settings. I turned on VoiceOver, tried it on different watch faces, moved on and off all options to do with sounds, silence, alerts. Finally Mickey found its voice.

I agree that folks need to report this to Apple. They don't monitor these discussions so the only way for them to know how many people are having the issue is to contact them directly.

And the priority for them finding a fix is definitely based on the number of calls they get about an issue. More calls = greater priority.

Oh, no! Really? I thought for sure that would fix it for everyone.

Nothing had worked for me, either, until those updates.

If you have Apple Care+... consider getting a replacement watch.

That was an option that I was told I had if all else failed.

If you turn off always speak time Mickey and Minnie will work again

Do you honestly think ANY company can do enough testing that there would never be any bugs? Only if they released software say once every 10 years or so.

It is good that you contacted Apple support and gave them your information. You might also want to call back and ask for a tier 2 representative and volunteer to let them collect data from your Watch.

JK. I went to the Accessibility once more, turned on the VoiceOver, tried It on Mickey, nothing worked, turned it off, went to get some shower, came back after 10+ min and Mickey started talking.

Might have sth to do with iOS 13.1 but not sure ;)

Also, the activity complication shows the calories on kilojoules rather than kilo calories. It’s very annoying. Mickey doesn’t speak the time anymore. It’s probably a very annoying bug from the new watch iOS

No... the feature is still a part of 6.0 or else you wouldn't see "speak time" in settings.

I talked with Apple Support today. They are aware of the situation. We'll see if they have a fix for it any time soon. It's probably not a high priority.

I suggest everyone report this to Apple support. I did the 'chat' thing online, went through all the fixes--none worked. So we scheduled a call for this morning. That person had a few new ideas plus ran a diagnostic on the watch over the phone while we talked (everything is okay, even the battery that drains kind of fast), but ultimately, Minnie is still mute. So... now I'm going to have another caucus with another tech-rep one step higher up the ladder.

But it's important that Apple knows just how many people are experiencing trouble with this. Might make it more of a debugging priority. I bet it isn't right now.

Are you guys all have English language set? I'm from Poland so the language is set to Polish.

This worked for me too!!!

I did the same yesterday evening and it dint worked immediately but it worked in next morning. I almost followed everything mentioned here..Idk what made it worked but now my Minnie is back..
