iPhone 11 Pro getting HOT

Just received my iPhone 11 Pro and after a few minutes of light use, the back and sides heat up to where I can barely hold the phone. Any ideas?

Yes I’ve experienced the same. The phone gets really hot in the back and sides. Also - the wireless charging is really slow. An entire night of wireless charging (6+hours) took my battery from 46% to 73%. That is not good at all. Did anyone else experience the same issue ?

I had the same problem. Did a forced restart by holding power button and volume up until it restarted. I then closed about 100 open safari windows and my batter life improved dramatically and the phone no longer gets hot. In settings—>battery, my battery usage was 33% safari and I wasnt even using it. Hopefully this helps someone.

Did you see my other posts? Apple replaced my first, HOT, iPhone 11, still under warranty. Why is Apple not resolving your issue, when they resolved this for me? My replacement phone, thus far, runs cool, as it should!. I‘m tired of hearing of all of these accounts of Apple Support - not coming through for their customers - it’s wrong.. They should do you the same solid they did, me, by replacing your unreasonably HOT phone, as well. Screenshot this post And send THIS and all of my posts on This topic, to the next tech support person you speak with- maybe you can get some movement in the right direction.

This also happened to me after a few months of having my phone. I did a hard restart. You can look it up, and it took me a couple of tries to actually do it correctly, but it’s simple. You quickly hit the volume up button, then volume down button, then the power button. It will not ask if you want to power down, it will just automatically do it. My phone is back to normal. Hope it works for you!

Overheated battery is not a normal issue. Of course costumers can return the phone.

But there is a reason why buyers buy a specific phone, especially with iphones. Heat is a major problem because it makes the battery work harder. It could create damage to the device, shorten life and I am not talking about the dangers while using it in the car or hot weather. The competition in the mobile market is tough and Apple has strong background and experience. They had before problems with overheated batteries so I would expat them to solve that by now. I just received my iphone 11 and have the same issue - its too hot and have not start using it yet. VERY Disappointing.

I have an otter case, and this phone still gets very hot, it's very uncomfortable physically in your hands, I have mild uncomfortable sensation in the palms of my hands and fingers where the phone is in contact with my skin, the screen gets very hot as well . Not acceptable. I often go back to my 8 plus and use that one whenever I can.

This issue needs to be fixed by Apple.
