iPhone 11 Pro getting HOT

Just received my iPhone 11 Pro and after a few minutes of light use, the back and sides heat up to where I can barely hold the phone. Any ideas?

Yes I’ve experienced the same. The phone gets really hot in the back and sides. Also - the wireless charging is really slow. An entire night of wireless charging (6+hours) took my battery from 46% to 73%. That is not good at all. Did anyone else experience the same issue ?

That’s what I say too ! It isn’t normal at all! I did go back again to the sprint/ TMobile . This time they told me the same they said before that the battery looks good but also talked about sometimes app stay on in background . He explained what to do and I asked if he could do it and explain to me again what to do . Hopefully that may help , he went to setting , screen time then scroll down to app limits. Then turn on . Then ya pick how long . He suggested maybe do 3 hrs every day .so that’s what I did he explained that this just limits how long the apps can run in the background . Evidently my Facebook page was running In background for around 20 hrs and it was in the morning and I haven’t been on it since the night before. He said sometimes ya go out of an app thinking ya closed it out but sometimes it’s still running In the background! Maybe y’all can try that too ! I will let y’all know if that helps ! Hoping it helps !

Most of the time the problem is not with the hardware, it's the software or more precisely the iOS.

Apple have admitted that there is a problem with some iPhones after upgrading to iOS 14 but this has been going on since the introduction of iOS 13 & I believe the the remedy for the problem in a lot of case's is a full wipe & reset but have a quick google around to find the official reset procedure by Apple.

The reason it gets so hot during charging is partly the battery cells taking on a charge which is normal but also the iPhone is working hard due to the faulty iOS even when not in use.

My iPhone SE original was a waste of space for about a year & it was only one of the last updates for iOS 13 that eventually cured it.

NO WAY ON EARTH AM I "UPGRADING" TO IOS 14.

Apple has a bad product It is not able to handle multiple apps What helps is to close all apps if the phone is over heated The messages are going around this issue No one has a solution Apple needs to address this issue

Then I must have a special iPhone 11 Pro. The only time it gets hot is if I leave it in the sun in my car with navigation running.

And, by the way, these apps you're closing are suspended. They're not really doing anything. If you want to actually cut down on background processing, go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and disable it.

Apple is not reading here for feedback. If you think you have a problem with your device, you should contact Apple directly. That way, any issues get logged. Should they see a trend, they can address it. Use the Contact Support link at the top right of every page of these forums.

iPhone 11 Pro Max bought less than a month ago, SCREEN is hot to the touch not just the sides/back. Never saw that on my old 8 Plus or any other iPhone I’ve owned back since iOS 3 or so, this phone is up to date with the latest iOS. No case.

Battery - Usage: Safari 83%, only a few tabs open including this one, all other apps closed including Mail. Not using sites with heavy JS.

Yes it IS an issue if the phone gets this hot to the touch even without shutting down, it’s a safety hazard and a QA failure as far as I’m concerned if it physically hurts my fingers like this.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max gets so hot that it broke the screen protector ...I’ve called Apple customer support and after been on the phone with them for almost 2 hours , nothing was solved . There’s no store that I can go in person at the moment . I am just so afraid that the iPhone can explode . Anyone with this kind of issue ?

I have the same issue on my iPhone 11 pro since last few months and the latest iOS 14 update has make this problem even worse my battery health has been low very fast and random screen dimming faster than Xs and Xs max. Talked with Apple support on Twitter and in Chat and Technical support team gave me silly reason like clear RAM and background Apps which we should as it helps to open apps faster during next use. I would like to get my issue fixed as i still have the warranty and i know apple is not reaching me as my warranty is about to expire. The reason is new iPhone 12 series are here. Not buying iPhone anymore. Pro is just a scam

I have had my 11 Pro for almost 2 months and it had been working fine until now. In the last 10 days the phone has heated up to the point where I can’t talk on it and within the last two days my battery has been draining extremely fast and I have not had any apps open or running in the background as I have turned off that option. I have followed this thread and gone in and done everything that’s been suggested and I’m still having an issue. Surely there is something that Apple can do if this has been a known issue for over a year.
