Ios13 - podcast or music stops playing when going into messages

Same here, happend today. Very frustrating...! Anyone???

Using headphones. iPhone 8plus, listening to music, open messages, music stops, have to open music app to start music again.

So it takes 4 seconds to moderate out the word i-d-i-o-t but apparently months can go by without anyone taking the time to address a significant problem with your UX. Well done Apple.

This worked for me. Using iPhone 11.

Same problem! iPhone pro 11. This is a MAJOR flaw.

This is a programming problem. Audio should not stop playing in an APP just because phone locks. Fix it please!

You are 100 percent right. Apple please fix this big time programming issue. Makes my iPhone pro 11 worse than 2004 technology with this streaming fail.

Im Glad I found this thread. This problem is so annoying. Ive had countless updates , Even today. Since about 13.1 this is happening to me

Same happens to me after installing iOS 13.1. I use Radio Box as a player via Bluetooth to a Bose Wave Radio. As soon as Radio Box doesn’t have focus (e.g., I try to open any other app) the music stops. Thereafter, if I swipe down to try to restart playback, the app immediately switches back to “stopped” before any sound is heard. Correct me if I’m wrong but iOS 13.0 just came out last week and it’s already at iOS 13.1.2! Great job, Apple.

Go to settings > messages> turn off “raise to listen” under audio messages. It seems to have fixed the issue for me 🙏. (It probably turns off any podcast/music because it assumes you want to listen to the messages instead)

We still don’t have an answer to this. Why does apple almost always have bugs with updates these days? Anytime I send a text while my phones uses Bluetooth my music pauses and really any audio I have pauses it’s really annoying.

i am on Apple music 3 months trial and when I open another app it stops playing APPLE MUSIC SONGS. Do not have this issue when play songs from my library
