iPhone 11 Pro Max 4G LTE Signal Issue

The new iPhone 11 Pro Max loses 4G signal from time to time (every a few minutes) when the Wi-Fi is off or no valid Wi-Fi hot spot is nearby.

Wi-Fi is off: The 4G signal drops to null in a sudden, and restores to full (4 bars) in 2-3 seconds. This happens regularly.

Wi-Fi is connected: The bars are steady - stay at 4 all the time.

I have tried:

  1. Disable Auto Network Selection
  2. Reset Network Settings
  3. Reset All Settings
  4. Reset All Content and Settings

None of them shows promising improvement.

I just got back from Apple Store and they swapped out my phone for a new one and the problem was fixed!!!

I would suggest doing these steps first before you go to Apple Store:

1) Call your cell company to debug first. Apple is going to say since it’s cell service issue and it’s not Apple problem. Cell company is going to go through list of debugging issues (reset network settings, etc) to see if that fixes your issues. If that doesn’t fix, continue debugging steps below.

2) Do a screen record of your phone dropping the cellular connection as evidence of you having issues just in case you’re in the Apple store and you can’t reproduce the issue.

3) Backup your phone. I used my laptop to backup because it restores much faster that way than going through WiFi.

4) Do a full wipe of your phone and set up your phone as a new phone (don’t restore from backup). This way you can see if your cellular issues are from software or from hardware.

4) Test our your phone and see if you are experiencing same issues.

5) If your cell connection is still dropping, take it into the Apple Store.

Good luck! I feel this is for sure a hardware issue for most people!

I just purchased the 156 11 pro max. At a price tag of $1200 plus, I am so disappointed. I restart my phone multiple times a day and currently, my Message app doesn’t work at all and I cannot currently turn my iMessage back on. It’s telling me I’m not on WiFi or have service even though my phone is reading 3 bars of LTE.... anyone have any way to help me?!

Been using and upgrading iPhone every year since iPhone 3G, and never have any connectivity issue until this iPhone 11 Pro Max. I can accept a few second of losing 4G connectivity, but having to restart the phone multiple times in a day is not acceptable.

I live in Japan, and my mobile provider is known for having the best signal. At first I went to my mobile provider and got a new SIM card, then I went to Apple Store. The Genius asked me to wait for iOS update. When iOS 13.1.2 was released, there were no fixes to connectivity issue. Went back again to Apple Store, and fought with another Genius for a replacement, cause there was a post here that got a replacement without the connectivity issue.

Anyway, even with the replacement, I am still having the same problem. I am currently on vacation in another country, so I am using my 11 Pro Max with another SIM card from a top local mobile provider, and I am still having the same cellular connectivity issue!

iOS 13.1.3 has just been released, but I don’t expect to see any changes, cause no mention of fixes to cellular connectivity issue.

This is really getting ridiculous!!

While on LTE (Verizon) in the US, even with full bars of LTE, my new iPhone 11 pro with update 13.1.3 is almost useless. I can not even open Google webpage and txt barely works. I did not have this problem with my Google Pixel devices like this. I switched to iPhone for the first time ever in my life and I'm beginning to think I should not have. :( Will this be fixed?

How did you get your phone replaced, I have been trying to do it since 3 weeks but still apple genius bar keep refusing to do so or at least to be accepted as a hardware failure instead they said it is related to my carrier, and we are not responsible for that, really finding my self with a phone costing over 170,000 yen which is 1600 USD with a continuous need to be rebooted at least 5 **** times by day, Apple what the heck are you doing ????????????

A lot of times I can get text, but internet is barely accessible at random times. I’ve called support and even got escalated support. They reset something on their end, it works for a few minutes, then it reverts right back to the issues. I have to connect to wifi to get it to work. Quite frustrating. Hope they fix this soon. The 13.1.3 updates didn’t fix the issue.
