iPhone 11 Pro Max 4G LTE Signal Issue

The new iPhone 11 Pro Max loses 4G signal from time to time (every a few minutes) when the Wi-Fi is off or no valid Wi-Fi hot spot is nearby.

Wi-Fi is off: The 4G signal drops to null in a sudden, and restores to full (4 bars) in 2-3 seconds. This happens regularly.

Wi-Fi is connected: The bars are steady - stay at 4 all the time.

I have tried:

  1. Disable Auto Network Selection
  2. Reset Network Settings
  3. Reset All Settings
  4. Reset All Content and Settings

None of them shows promising improvement.

I have connectivity issues too with my 11 pro max. I live in an area with spotty connection but it’s much worse with the new phone versus my old XS Max. Upgrading to 13.1 did not help. Switched the SIM back to my old phone and it works just fine. Super frustrating.

На примере Латвии, ошибка была в конфигурации сети мобильного оператора. После того как LV LMT поправили настройки, LTE в телефоне заработало, даже не нужно было перезагружать телефон.

Had this issue but it seems to have been resolved with a replacement unit. Made an Genius Bar appointment and went to the Apple Store to have them run a diagnostic. They didn't find any issues with the hardware but they ultimately agreed to replace my iPhone 11 Pro 512GB (Verizon Wireless). This was after two SIM replacements and other steps to attempt to resolve the issue. New unit works well. No complete cellular drop issues like my original unit. Perhaps a bad batch out there. Will continue to monitor but the new iPhone passed one major test which was being able to receive cellular in an area (Sam's Club warehouse) that I previously had several issues receiving signal.

I am having the same issue on my EE iPhone 11 Pro max phone. I have tried everything, reset the network/all settings, turned airplane mode off/on, turned the phone off/on, reset the phone to factory default without restoring the back up. Still it does not correct the problem.

The data signal just drops and the connection is lost, then it comes back on again after a few seconds. This happens every few minutes during my chats and data calls.

I’m trying to figure out if I have a malfunctioning modem, or if it’s just the crappy Intel modem in these phones, as I had a similar issue with my XS Max last year. Basically I live in an area of my (fairly large) city with somewhat of a weak signal, but not terrible. I have t-mobile, and an android on T-Mobile gets 3-4 bars in my house, the nearest tower is about 1.5 miles away. My iPhone gets 1 bar, and at times it gets 2. Data speed is dreadful!! Under 1mbps. I tried everything before calling T-Mobile, including resetting network connection in settings, toggling airplane mode, etc.... T-Mobile said they “reset” my connection on their end and it still did nothing. Being this close to a tower, in a major city, with another T-Mobile phone getting good signal, my iPhone shouldn’t be running slower than a dial up modem! In other parts is the city when I do have full bars, the LTE is blazing fast. I put the phone in field test mode (*3001#12345#*) to see what it’s connecting to... when I have 1 bar it’s connecting to a band 2 frequency at about -115 dB. That is the signal it prefers to connect to and that’s the signal I get under 1 mbps. It switches to 2 bars sometimes and it’s connected to a band 66, which is much better speed wise, I get anywhere from 5 to 20 mbps. The signal strength on that band is around -100 dB. Still a trash signal strength, but much stronger than the the slow as **** band 2. Why wouldn’t the phone want to stay connected to the stronger band 66 signal? It will still almost always switch back to the weaker slower signal. Here is what really irks me and leads me to believe something may be wrong with the phone: T-Mobile sent me a cell spot signal booster. It connects to the tower with one box and another box boosts the LTE signal in the house. Thought for sure that would fix it, because the phone does great with a strong signal. At first setup, the signal booster works great. Stays connected to band 66 at 4 bars and runs between 5 and 20 mbps. Signal strength is -70 dB. Then all of a sudden without moving an inch in the house it drops down to 1 bar, won’t load a webpage! I check the connection and it’s back connecting to that crappy band 2, at -115 dB, completely ignoring the massively strong and fast signal present. Sometimes 10 minutes goes by before it connects back to the strong signal provided by the cell booster. Is this normal behavior for the widely known trash Intel modem in my $1300 phone, or do I have a faultly one? I have a feeling I already know the answer since my XS Max did almost the same thing. :(

13.2.2 did not fix this for me. Despite having a T-Mobile signal booster in the house, which provides a strong LTE signal on band 66, sitting 2 feet from the signal booster the phone connects to it and I get 4 full bars, fast data and everything works perfectly. About a minute or two later, it will inexplicably revert back to the weak 1 bar LTE signal I get from the actual tower, with slow or no data speed. Sometimes it will eventually go back to the strong signal from the signal booster, other times it stays connected to the weak tower signal forever. I paid $1200 for a phone with no cellular functionality.

I am now on my 2nd iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB (AT&T) and my 3rd SIM card. Cellular signal continues to drop off while still showing bars and also sometimes randomly drops to no bars/no service while others around me with AT&T are fine. 1hr later, the phone will still not recover the signal on its own. The only way to fix is to reboot phone or turn airplane mode on and off. I have gone back and forth with AT&T and Apple. I have yet another genius bar appt Sat. I'm beyond frustrated.

When I did this software update it seemed to be a little better, but I will still be in an area that historically had a great signal (with older iPhones) and my phone (11pro max) shows one bar and my call drops out and I lose the call. I have to put the phone in airplane mode for a few seconds or power cycle it and when it comes back I usually have signal again.

Well well well I don’t believe it can be fixed because it is a hardware issue maybe software tweaks by apple can make it better but not fix however due to recent events I now believe that some are worse then others. I’m on day 3 of my 14 days for return my iPhone 11 to T-Mobile and I have not had an issue yet , please everyone knock on wood , maybe I got a good one I don’t know but we will see I hope I don’t have take this back and get the note 10+
