Bluetooth Stuttering Issues | iPhone 11 Pro Max | iOS 13

My audio (from all apps) playback on Bluetooth devices is stuttering making it sound kinda like static. Currently on iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 13. My prior iPhone XS Max on iOS 13 worked perfectly. So it's either the iPhone 11 Pro Max or iOS 13 on it in particular. Anybody else experiencing the same issues? Thanks!

Same. iPhone 11 Pro. Haven’t tried disabling Hey Siri yet, but have noticed that Hey Siri is half broken compared to my XS and all phones prior (like super slow to hear me, and even slower to do anything once it has heard my command). They really can’t do stable releases any more can they (top few most valuable companies in the world etc etc). And we’re a good few patch versions in now...

I have this same problem on an iphone 6S (I know, but its a company phone). It connects to things but won't play. Drops calls, and skips in and out of connection to ANYTHING bluetooth. I have tried Airpods (1), car (Volvo V40) and MiniJambox speakers, only the speakers maintain any sense of a connection and weirdly the issue gets worse when you move it more than 6 inches away from them (drops connection and blanks out sound for a second or so). Given BT range is 33 feet, we have a serious BT problem here. Seems Apple have know about this for about 6 months now, yet the problem persists, very poor. Done all the rebooting, switching WI-Fi on and off, updating to 13.3.1.....nothing makes a blind bit of difference. Very frustrated!

Hi guys!

I think i figured out the problem! I shuted down my apple watch and the connection with my bluetooth headphone it's ok, when i turned on the apple watch the problem came back, so, i think the apple watch is the problem, i dont know if because my iphone has 2 connections bluetooth or other thing.

PS: Sorry my enligh, im from brazil!

EDIT: My headphone is the xiaomi airdots, i have another device and its works ok, i think its because de airdots is 5.0 and the other is 4.1.

Also what series of watch if this is the case or do they all interfere. Yes I also have Apple Watch I’ll try tonight without and see if it helps I have to try when have long periods of time because it’s so infrequent sometimes I can go an hour with nothing other times every 5 songs it stutters. I have also noticed it happens at the start of my music not in the middle of a song. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or maybe on to something.

There appears to be different Bluetooth "stuttering" issues. Some may be related to the Apple Watch as people have noted. There are issues with audio (primarily music audio) to Bluetooth receivers and speakers. The recent iOS update to 13.3.1 seems to have reduced the stuttering somewhat, but it still occurs as others have noted. Apple has asked me to load a troubleshooting profile to log Bluetooth data and send to their engineers (this is the second time since the update did not fix the problem). So we are still waiting for a fix for the iPhone 11.

Same here. Iphone 6s plus. I tried all workarounds (including restoring via Itunes and setting as new phone)...no luck. When iphone is near (very, very near) to speaker (mine is a Rockbox) it works otherwise it begins to crackle and disconnecting/reconnecting. Last update didn't fix the issue. I have a 6s (not plus but same ios version) too...it works well!

Reading on this forum this seems to be a widespread problem and it seems also not to be related to a particular model affecting different iphones such as 6s, 6s plus, some 7 plus and many 11s and 11 pros. Hope Apple will fix it.

I have problem when playing music with Bluetooth on my 2014 Mercedes A class. Randomly it freeze for a second , sometime very often. Sometimes not at all. I can say for sure it all started when AirPods Pro came out, went to the Apple store to try them and there was a little iOS update to make them pair with the iphone. After this update the Bluetooth always give me this issue. The problem seems more noticeable when using the phone while the music is playing. For example opening apps or scrolling through pages etc.

No problem at all with my AirPods 1. iPhone 11 Pro Max, ios13.3.1

I have experienced the stuttering as well. For me, it sounds like the Bluetooth connected device is getting to the point of dropping the connection due to becoming out of range. This happens on all of my Bluetooth headphones, and Airpods. More so when i lock the phone screen, or if i have an incoming text message, or phone call.

When listening to audio from any audio related app in my Honda through Apple Carplay, I get what sounds like a cd skip, the screen goes blank, turns back on and the music continues. I have verified that the the cars infotainment unit is not rebooting, because when listening to Sirius XM the music is fine, until Waze provides a voice prompt that also sounds like a cd skip, and the music in the background are perfectly fine.

So at least with Subaru vehicles, I have pinpointed that removing ANY smart watch (Apple or not) from the equation prevents stuttering/skipping when streaming bluetooth music. I have submitted this issue through Subaru quality to investigate with the head unit maker (harman kardon). Will know more soon hopefully. On our non harman head units in newer models this isnt an issue. Also no problems on new or old Subaru head units with android phones and watches.

I have this problem too. I don't think I notice this problem until I changed from AirPod to AirPod 2nd Gen. it happens maybe every 30-60 mins and it stutters for about 10-15 seconds and goes back to normal. I don't have this problem when connecting to my cars (Toyota Prius Prime 2017 or the Ford Focus EV 2015), just the AirPod 2nd Gen with my iPhone 11, but not the iPad Pro.

Are you guys noticing this happens on the AirPod 2nd Gen + only?

There appear to be different Bluetooth stuttering problems - some may be related to various car BT systems, and some possibly related to the Apple Watch. However there is a common theme of problems with the iPhone 11 versus older model iPhones or any of the iPads. This problem shows up with numerous BT devices (audo receivers, sound bars, car systems, headphones), and it appears to be most noticeable with music. The Apple airbuds may work OK since it's "Apple to Apple". Hardware replacements of the iPhone 11 along with complete SW resets have not fixed this problem for me and several other people. The latest iOS update also did not fix this. I have sent Bluetooth logs with time stamps when the stuttering occured using two different iPhone 11s running a variety of BT devices and audio apps to Apple support. They seem to acknowledge the problem, but the responses to me have dried up over the past 3-4 weeks. As the previous post said "PLEASE sort this out".
