This is extremely frustrating! I can’t access emails for store pickup orders, travel itineraries, gift cards, etc. on my iPhone. All because I had stored them in folders. (That’s what I observe —- only emails that I have stored in folders.) I have to come home to get it from my Mac. This problem does not seem to affect the Mac. I think it’s because I did the organizing (moving to folders) on the Mac. Apple, please fix this!!!!

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPad Pro both running 13.2.3. After reading all the comments and trying all the “fixes” I could find on the internet I can say nothing seems to help with the mail app issue. I use iCloud mail and have done so for years. Mail stored in folders has never been a problem for me. New phone and now unable to access anything but mail headers in storage folders (a few work...very few). Very frustrating as much of it is important to have on my mobile devices (iPhone, iPad Pro). Sounds like Outlook might have it right, but what a hassle. Sometimes feel like Apple is becoming the new old Microsoft. Sad

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPad Pro both running 13.3 and mail stored in folders still not downloaded. Getting the feeling Apple is considering this issue to be fixed because “new” email is being downloaded...Like JemimaP said this makes things more complicated when dealing with stored messages of all types. I don’t even own a printer and carrying my Mac around ain’t going to happen!. I’m not a programmer but seems someone at Apple should be able to straighten this out. The messages are available on the iCloud.com servers. Good grief!

This is silly. There is no other way to describe this. Apple you need to fix this.

My wife is very organised and has all her email in folders beautifully sorted.

Then iOS stops this from working reliably!!! And from reading all the messages it seems that you don’t intend to any time soon.

i though that iOS was supposed to be a professional tool. (Very expensive iPad Pro fully spec’ed out) and guess what it can’t do folders in mail.

I have tried all sorts of “fixes” on the web that don’t work but I haven’t found a word from Apple even advising that it’s a known issue and it’s being worked on. This type of attitude just wastes all of our time. Having something that works is what I expect from Apple.

Frankly Apple you need to just fix this.

I am a kindred spirit with your wife. Save all my emails in folders. Needed an attachment the other day from a year ago. Thankfully the email I needed had downloaded. The ones before and after had not. I even pay for more storage so I can use this filing system. Can’t understand why Apple has such a blind spot on this. This is my second post/complaint about this issue.
