Change the voice. The Uh-Huh seems to be associated with the South American Female voice option.

For instance the American Male has proper, respectful, intelligent sounding replies. I’m sure others do as well, you’d just have to try out different ones.

Or just don't wait between "Hey, Siri" and your question. Siri only says that if you pause. So, no pause, no uh-huh.

We all get that, but have you ever said "Hey, Siri, what time is it in London?" only to hear no response at all. Crickets.... For me it not necessarily the "uh huh" (which does make me cringe), it is the no acknowledgement that she/he is listening. There used to be a tone which was fine enough. Additionally, I am fairly confident no one is "enraged" by the phone. For such a smart device, it sounds unintelligent responding "uh huh"

When more than one word in a response is asterisked out as it was in the post to which I was responding, it's pretty clear that the person is overreacting to a mechanical voice.

No, I rarely have a problem with no response.

Oh so now, we have to watch our mouths in front of our phones? I'm usually driving and can't look to see if ive been acknowledged. A tone would be fine or a proper greeting such as "Hello" The ignorant-sounding "uh-huh" is frequently not loud or long enough to hear in a loud truck. I guess Apple would tell me to get a quieter car to go with my phone that can't manage "hello" or "can I help you" ?

I have informed Apple myself at least four times on the link meant for them and one by phone call. The genius staff I spoke to never heard of the issue. 🤔

I'd never been aware of the issue before I saw a post about it on these forums. I had to make an effort to reproduce it. And I think it's hilarious.

The fact that you have submitted feedback doesn't mean that every single person in Apple is informed.

Your absolutely right but you want to converse so badly, aggravated when living by your self, but I am really curious why that is the response. HOw is Siri programmed( which i gladly admitt i have no knowledge of what or how that is done) that once call out gets you attitude and 2 call outs gets you polite? Oh Well, it is what it is ,as they say.LOL. I believe that the pause is not being sure if i am within range or, some other mechanical issue prevents it from hearing.(low battery maybe) so i automatically wait for the response.
