Change the voice. The Uh-Huh seems to be associated with the South American Female voice option.
For instance the American Male has proper, respectful, intelligent sounding replies. I’m sure others do as well, you’d just have to try out different ones.
Or just don't wait between "Hey, Siri" and your question. Siri only says that if you pause. So, no pause, no uh-huh.
What’s the deal with Siri? An attitude problem? I’m paying good money and I get a very informal and disrespectful Siri. I don’t like it at all and Siri needs an attitude adjustment. Answer with a little professionalism.

As has been noted here many many times... you are not grumbling to Apple here.
Nobody here has the ability to help you with your concerns.
Feedback for Apple goes here >>> http://www.apple.com/feedback/.

I am wondering why there is a relationship between money paid and Siri's attitude?
Also wondering where one got the impression that Siri would be "respectful". Whatever that means.
Where was Siri's behaviour defined? Where did Apple set expectations that Siri would match your sense of professionalism or whatever you feel is lacking.
Problem solved with Siri response of “ ah ha and Uh“ etc.
Sometimes is pay to make a ripple.
Solutions can be found.
Like when Samsung got rid of the male voice for Bixby and replaced it with a dreadful voice.
solution was not to use it.
Another person with a high OFS. If you are referring to software upgrades they are indeed free and you will have to wait until the iOS 14.5 update. I have no problem with Siri saying "uh huh" if I am rude enough to just say, "Hey, Siri." Saying "I'm working on it is also not rude, it is just a statement.
Just ask your question in a polite manner, such as "Hey, Siri, what is the weather forecast.?"
I have reported thank you
i just came into this community to find out if there anyone who knew how I can change it but instead I enter a room of bullies raised by technology . I am sorry if you all are so turned off by your older generation.

I'd guess the average age of members Level 6 and higher is about seventy-five.
You people have a problem. Like who cares? Just move on with life, it’s not the end of the world if Siri keeps saying uh huhhh.
Siri saying that makes me feel like I’m talking to an actual person instead of a robot.
And if it didn’t do that, I would still not give a crap. :)
Totally agree!! This has been bothering me for months and just finally have the time and the memory to remember to look this problem up, as I have completely had it with Siri and her attitude. I think mine gone an extra step and now will ignore me if I ask her the same question more than twice. If she understood the first 2 times, I would not have to ask again.

The implication that only mothers and southerners are polite is rather rude, don't you think?
Jwblane,
II know these issues can be frustrating. I can assure you from personal experience if an Apple engineer is scheduled to contact you, the engineering team will do everything they can to solve it. These issues sometimes take some time to resolve.
Good luck!

Except that this is not an issue that requires an Apple engineer to "solve". It would require that Apple change their mind about a particular user interface choice. No engineer is going to contact anyone about that.

A lesson in software development: Engineers have ZERO decision authority. They do what they are told. If Siri say “uhhuh” it’s because the user experience team told them that’s what Siri should say. So this was a careful decision, probably based on hours of discussion.
Yeah I reported it, but nothing has been done about it. I’m not saying they should get rid of it, because some people like it. But you should be able to customize Siris responses. I don’t allow my kids to speak like that, why would I want my phone to?

If I spoke to my parents the way Siri talks to us now I would of gotten a slap for being disrespectful.
having a little attitude and having an attitude problem are 2 different things
Siri is not a person. Most of us have different expectations of people than we do of computers.
And, it's easy to avoid ever hearing "Uh, huh".
