Change the voice. The Uh-Huh seems to be associated with the South American Female voice option.
For instance the American Male has proper, respectful, intelligent sounding replies. I’m sure others do as well, you’d just have to try out different ones.
Or just don't wait between "Hey, Siri" and your question. Siri only says that if you pause. So, no pause, no uh-huh.

Thanks!
I switched to the The Irish woman’s voice. She says, “”Yes?” The male says, “Huh?” LOL! I know it is a small thing, but if you use Siri frequently, and don’t like the response, the “uh huh” and “huh” get to be like an annoying little pebble in your shoe.
Proceeding immediately with your question also works. Thanks to the person who made that suggestion.

Thank you! I can’t stand the “uh huh”. Sounds like one of my disinterested kids to busy (probably texting) to address me properly. 😉
Then don't wait so long that Siri prompts you. If you give your request as one sentence, without a pause between "Hey, Siri...." and what you're asking, you'll never hear the uh huh. Who knows, it might work with your children, too.
If you change Siri's accent to Irish, she says sometimes says "what can I do for you?" or "I'm listening". I still get some "hmms" or "yeahs" but at least some variety. I got a "how can I help" from South African accent. Other accents are much more consistent with hmm, mmmhmm, yeah. But to be fair, the disrespect is mutual as I much prefer Google's answers to Siri's. You're pushing me to the dark side Siri.

I absolutely can’t stand it either and wish they’d take it off.
If you don't leave a pause between "He, Siri" and your question, you'll never have to hear it.
If you want Apple to know your thoughts on the matter, use the feedback page. They don't read here for suggestions.

What is the point of having a nickname if all Siri says is mmhm or uh huh….. I’m burnt out with it.
If you leave no pause between "Hey, Siri...." and your question, you will never hear that.
Makes me even more frustrated when I can’t find my phone and I call out to her and all I get it that stupid response, can’t even hear it.
So, ask an actual question like, "Hey, Siri, what time is it?" Problem solved.
I would like to know what moron(s) even put that in the I phone to be a response.
It's funny, so many people in this thread have complained that "uh huh" is rude but people also have no problem calling other people "morons".

Hello ~ I will tell you what I did to make it at least bearable… Settings * Siri and Search * Language and there I selected a different English (United Kingdom) as that accent to my ear is the least creepy and offensive…
It will still say "uh huh" unless you don't leave a pause. No pause, no "uh huh" .
But, what can you expect, saying "Hey Siri" is already rude. ;-)
don't wait for her to answer. just say, hey Siri and then what you want.
It's very easy to avoid having Siri say, "Uh huh?" and the method has been explained repeatedly in this thread: Don't pause between saying "Hey, Siri..." and the rest of your question.
Hello ~ If you don’t pause between “Hey Siri” and your request you will not hear either of the “Mmmmmm” or “ Uhhhhhhuuuhhh”

I recently got the iPhone 11 Pro, I despise the hmm.. it just sounds so rude. Really need a programming fix
You can tell Apple what you want here:
However, until such time as Apple decides they agree with you, you can avoid hearing "uh huh" by using "Hey Siri..." the way Apple has currently designed it. We all learned to say "Hey, Siri..." and then wait. The newer, faster phones don't require that pause. If you just say, "Hey, Siri, what time is it?" at a normal pace, all you'll get is the answer to your questions.
Or not. It's entirely up to you.

So, first of all... when she says UhHuh it’s like in the most disrespectful tone. It’s as if she doesn’t care what I am going to ask lol
I teach my kids to reply with yes! Instead of uhhuh... and this is a huge pet peeve for me!
Also, as a professional I expect Siri to preform as an assistant if I need anything, she would be fired with this attitude.
Then you should tell Apple what you'd like to see:
Meanwhile, you can avoid hearing "uh huh" if you don't pause between "Hey, Siri....." and the rest of your question.

If you change the voice type (Irish, or others) - go to settings, Siri & search, and then pick a different voice type (my wife likes Irish) and you will not get the Uhhuh.
That's certainly not the case with the British voice that I have selected. If I pause, Siri says "uh huh?" If I don't pause, I never hear that. It's really simple.

Clifford,
Apple family,
I turned to you for answers not a shoulder to weep upon.
My name is not Clifford. However, as I noted in the post to which you responded, you can avoid ever hearing the "uh huh" by not leaving a pause between "Hey, Siri..." and your questions.
i been commenting, yelling, posting, complaining all the major ways i can thank of, and apple is never going to change it
or add a way to keep her listening longer, or add a switch, for attitude,(Snarky or Polite and Professional) pause to swallow and you have to do it again, The best thing is what was suggested a while back, break your self of the social graces by waiting for the response before asking. It's "Hey Siri, what time is it". Not "Hey Siri",(pause for reply), "What time is it"
Siri says uhhuh instead of yes
