iPhone 11 volume low

My 11 pro has issues with volume & volume control. This AM I had a missed call due to same issue.

Anyway, this morning I was playing some music (pandora/youtube music) and the level was way too low. The only advice I could find on web was to goto Music setting -> EQ -> nightlife (sp). I clicked, no change. Then I clicked on other EQ settings with no appreciable responses.

Then I started to examine the volume control. Sliding it up to max vol, down to min produced NO appreciable response. But then, as I kept on sliding it and perhaps changing between music apps, it came to and started working!

IMHO, this is a major problem and should be addressed right away.

Otherwise, btw, I love the Iphone 11 pro.

I fixed it! I read in other forums that if you still had your plastic on the screen (while waiting for cover to arrive) it might affect the volume. It did. I took it off. Tried it out and it worked! Volume is great. Even got too loud, because I put it to Max on the volume buttons before as I could not hear the person on the other line at all.

Hope this helps!

I’m seeing the same behavior. Speaker volume randomly “sticks” at a nearly inaudible level and cannot be changed. Pressing either of the volume buttons does change the on-screen slider up and down as expected, but the speaker volume doesn’t change. There is no visible indication that the phone is stuck in headphones mode. When it gets in this condition, I have tried turning off Bluetooth, closing all apps as well as all of the recommendations in this forum thread. None of them work for me. The only way I have found to correct it is to restart the phone. After the restart, it works fine for a random period of time (anywhere from a couple of days to sometimes a whole week). I have resorted to restarting my phone every morning in hopes that prevents it from happing during business hours (I rely on this phone for my business clients).

This sort of behavior from a $1K+ flagship device is absolutely unacceptable! (A similar situation to this is precisely why I dumped my Windows phone years ago.) Apple, if you’re listening, you’re making the Samsung handsets look better and better every time this happens!

UPDATE: I was hoping this would be addressed by the IOS 13.5.1 update. It may have fixed the random low ringer volume level. I say "may" because I've made it a habit to power cycle the device every morning before work. So far, power cycling the device is the only way to get the volume back to normal once it gets "stuck." There is still an issue with the phone's feedback volume (e.g. key clicks when typing and other app sounds while the phone is unlocked). Now instead of sticking at the lowest level, the volume is now sticking at random volume levels, more often than not it now sticks at full volume. Power cycling the device is the only way to correct this situation.

In addition, texting while using a Bluetooth speaker frequently forces the volume up to maximum. I can try to reduce the volume using either the volume control on the Bluetooth speaker or the device's volume control. In both cases, I see the volume slider move down as if the volume is being changed. And, in some cases the volume level is reduced as expected. However, after typing a few more text characters, the volume jumps back to maximum along with the slider. I can turn the volume down again, but after a few characters, the cycle repeats. These ongoing volume level issues are extremely frustrating.

Apple, if you're listening to your customers, please fix these issues (or at the very least let us know you're aware of them and are working on a solution)!

OK let me start off by saying I purchased the iPhone 11Pro thinking that it will be a great phone this phone has nothing but issues had to contact Apple Support several times due to corona nothings open and the phone is simply a piece of **** I am so irritated with it it is not worth $1100 every year I wind up getting their new phone but this one is the worst even more so frustrated trying to get it fixed is completely hard because none of their stores are open and Best Buy cannot do anything either they said I can mail it in but they don’t have a loaner phone so you screw for 15 days without a phone I expect better out of an apple considering I thought I was getting the top of the line phone No I would not recommend buying it!!

Oh do I hear you! I sent mine in and they scheduled a phone call with me and the day before the call I got the tracking number saying it was returned to me “ we found nothing wrong” really you can hear a flipping thing while talking in the phone!!!! This phone needs a recall. Thousands of customers who purchased the first lot of them can’t hear out of the ear piece. 1200 piece of junk! Sitting on the counter unused!

Same issue as above. Just started having this issue about 2 months ago after using this phone for about a year. Volume on incoming calls randomly goes to near silence. I am missing important call due to this. I have no plastic screen on my phone and have repeatedly checked my settings. I hate to have to take it in to an iphone store if they are even open during this pandemic. I am in Houston, TX.

This started happening to me about 1 month ago, could barely hear people on a call unless it was on speaker phone. Tried all the sound setting fixes and updates but didn't work. Thought for sure my earpiece speaker was busted but decided to try to clean it out with a clean toothbrush and screen cleaner and IT WORKED!!! Give it a try, hopefully it's just dirt/sweat build up....

I have the exact same issue with my iphone 11. The other person hears me clearly but their volume is very low for me to hear when I am using the phone directly. If i use the headphone instead I can hear them clearly. I spent an hour with an apple customer care person; we changed setting etc. but the problem remains. It is kind of unfortunate that with so many people pointing out this issue, apple has not done anything yet.

I also purchased the 11 pro back in December 2019, and I have had nothing but problems with the sound quality, as most people I speak to on this device say my voice fades in and out when having a conversation, as if it misses out every other word.

i run a small building company and this phone is solely for my business.

i have complained continuously to Apple, even sent it back, but they will not acknowledge there is a problem.

i personally feel I need to take it a step further, so Trading standards is my next stop, as this device has a serious malfunction when making a phone call, and I feel it is not fit for purpose.

i would like to set up some form of register, to see how many others are having this issue, with possible contact details, if you agree with me.

i am in the midst of sending letters to Apple, I am sure Tim Cook ceo of Apple wouldn’t use the 1 phone 11 pro, so why should I?
