AirPod issues since I got my iPhone 11 Pro

Hi all - I got an iPhone 11 Pro on release day and have been having issues ever since with my AirPods. The problem that I am facing is only with using them for talking. I can hear audio fine, including music, etc, but when I try talking people can only occasionally hear me. I have reverted back to using EarPods the past week or so, so that I am able to talk on the phone.

Any ideas? I have updated to 13.1.2 and the issue still exists.

Hi there,

I suppose I have the same problem with my iPhone 11 and air pods 2

I've bought a new iPhone 11 and really enjoy using it every day.

But, unfortunately, sometimes my friends are saying that they hear me not really well. It happens with a regular phone calls, my voice is present on the line, but it's distorted, like I'm speaking under the water. Btw when I listen audio everything is okay.

Do you have the problem with microphone after you disconnect your AirPods ? Because when my friends said that my voice something like robotic and they didn’t hear me I disconnected my AirPods and have the same problem with microphone((

When I enable and disable airplane mode, the sound quality recovers and they hear me well.

I always have the latest iOS updates installed.

Please, Apple, help! It’s really upset me every day.

Did anyone solve the issue (I’m an owner of iPhone 11pro) ? I’m not quite sure whether mine problem is anyhow connected with airpods. When I’m speaking with somebody in 50% of calls my voice is distorted and second party does not hear me. It happens even if I don’t use airpods. I need to turn off the phone and then for couple of hours it is ok. Then everything comes back.

should I exchange the phone anyone solve this issue ?

I have this exact same problem. I spend 80% of my day on calls with clients, and I’ve used my Gen 1 AirPods for over a year flawlessly with my iPhone 7, then XS Max. As soon as I got the new iPhone 11Pro Max, I began to experience intermittent garbled sound, where I could barely hear the other people on the call and they could barely hear me clearly, if at all. I’ve remained on the latest iOS release (And am on 13.2.3 now) and nothing has resolved this issue. I’ve spent well over $1,300 and expect Apple devices to work flawlessly with each other. This is not the case with the new 11 Pro and original AirPods. I feel like Apple owes me (and everyone having this issue) a free pair of the new AirPods Pro or an equivalent replacement pair at no cost. I’m no longer under my original AirPods warranty, and the manufacturer has essentially limited and/or impacted my ability to use their own product as it was intended.

I’ve now become a very upset Apple customer - it’s well beyond an acceptable time to acknowledge the issue and provide a fix or solution.

Trying to figure out how the last response was helpful ... Here’s a novel idea, read all the posts before making a blanket statement about people complaining about their AirPod issues. Many of those who posted, myself included, have AirPods that are out of warranty ... not by years, but some just a few months. Thus, we are not covered under warranty. Maybe those who have been affected by this Apple issue don’t have a “genius” close by. That’s right, my closest Apple store is 45 minutes away.

Don’t bother going in to Apple, I already have and this is what we found (or didn’t find)

I bought brand new iPhone 11pro max and brand new AirPod pros same day.

new phone/pods had sound issues with the new AirPod pros, so I switched back to my old airpods, same issue. So I tried my wife’s airpods but same issue. So that narrows it down to phone or iOS

I took phone to Apple and it’s tests fine, so they said only voice is to wait for iOS update that might fix issue.

I returned the AirPod pros for obvious reasons.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro and purchased the AirPod Pros today. They connected fine at first but then even though showing connected nothing was playing. They then kept disconnecting.

I tried them on my husbands iPhone X, still same issue.

Resolve was to reset the AirPods, using the following steps....

Open the case, then press and hold the small button on the back of the case. So, that small button on the back of the AirPodCharging Case is the key to resettingthe AirPods. Hold it down for 15 seconds and the LED light on the case will change from white to amber.

Now connected again and playing fine. Just hope it stays that way.

Clearly a bug

I just purchased the iPhone 11 and Airpods Pro. I'm having this issue as well where calls are being dropped, and audio is intermittently garbled with static or robot sounding noises. This is really unacceptable. I'm also updated on the latest airpod firmware and IOS 13.2.3. I've tried the resetting airpods thing, repairing method, everything anyone has suggested. Please advise.

It's annoying because the cell phone was literally invented to do one job--make sure you can call other people without interruption. And I can't even do that with one of the most expensive pairs of earphones I've ever purchased.
