No Siri audio over bluetooth

I just got off the phone with Apple Support and I'm so close to getting an Android.

The operator is essentially blaming either me, the car, or saying that this is expected behavior. They refuse to acknowledge the problem.

And as I have said previously in here somewhere, I have the iPhone 10XS and having the same issue. Sometimes though rather than Siri just sitting there, she will open the iMessages window instead, which is really annoying because I still can’t type a text while driving.

I have the same problem in my car. iPhone 8 works perfectly but my new iPhone 11 on same iOS as the 8 doesn’t respond to Siri via Bluetooth. Hope I don’t get a ticket for hands free.. need a fix ASAP..

I have the exact same issue. I’ve used the iPhone 6, iPhone 8 Max and Xs Max all in this vehicle flawlessly. I upgraded to 11 Pro Max with iOS 13 and have this same problem. I’m ready to throw this thing through a wall! I have a 2009 Nissan Murano. My wife is also having this issue after upgrading from 8 to 11 Pro on her 2010 Nissan Ultima.

I called tonight5, was told this is a seldom reported issue and they made me an appointment to go to the Apple Store tomorrow! How silly is that? It happens on both my phone and my husbands... two different models, so why should I go to the Apple store?

Siri audio feedback in my car stopped working in my car with the 13.3 update. For example if I ask Siri about the weather, I can see my car’s display changes as it normally would when BT audio is coming from my phone (appears as a phone call), my car makes it’s normal chimes, but no audio from Siri, just screen information. This is an absolute fiasco with the Bluetooth issues. Also my phone now sees two handsfree devices when I’m connected to my car’s Bt. The car is a 2015 Honda CR-V, my phone is an 11 pro.

I’ve tried clearing all the phone/Bt data from my car (there’s a master clear function), removes pairing from my phone, reset network settings, restarted my phone.

I wonder if it's something strange like being dependant on the version your phone was on when first paired with the head-unit? I think I upgraded my phone to 13.x very soon and potentially hadn't paired it to the car before then.

That’s pretty much the setup i have. My bmw e90’s bluetooth only supports phone calls, so i have a bt reciever connected to the aux port for music. I have tried connecting the phone to the adapter (which also supports phone calls btw) but nothing changed... music works, maps work, hey siri doesn’t.

Hi all, Apple care just rang and me to upgrade to iOS 13.3 but it didn’t make any difference. They are aware of this thread and others like it. Hopefully 13.4 will fix it but it’s getting beyond a joke. $1000 fine for touching your phone in car in Brisbane, Australia and now they have cameras that can detect usage. Appalling!

Not only has Apple repeatedly engaged in the "this is the first we've ever heard of this" dance, but mods on fanboi sites like MacRumors will delete posts referring to said issue with threats of banning if brought up again. That said, I'm glad Apple is finally making progress on solving this potentially dangerous (and definitely distracting) driving-related issue! Will skip the beta and wait for production 13.3.1...

Well they solved it... kind of... i can now hear siri through the car’s bluetooth but it’s very unstable. Whenever i get a call, after about 1 minute it disconnects and it takes forever to reconnect. If i call somebody it works ok. Also, today while driving i was listening to music and using apple maps to navigate and the sound started to get distorted (high pitched) and eventually lost the connection. I can see the car’s bluetooth system and the bluetooth adapter( which i use just for music) but the adapter still shows two connections available.

Jan 26, have the same issue. Got my iPhone 11 6 days ago. Just prior to that, my old 6s running iOS13.3 worked fine. I’d been on the phone this week with Mazda and to the Apple store and neither seemed to have ever heard of the issue, though it seems that it has existed as far back as October. At least I learned from this thread the the side button works and I can dictate texts in my car using this.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve done, but for some reason, it rarely if ever hears me on the first attempt. I have to manually summon Siri by holding the power button. After that, Hey Siri works as intended until the next time it re-pairs with the car.

See my comment above about ambient noise ... do you have this issue when there's very little/ no noise in your car?
