iPhone ringer volume keeps turning down

Mine still turns down to zero randomly even with the side buttons disabled, so this isn't even a fix at all.

I have always had my iphone set to not adjust the ringer with the side buttons, and since this last update, my ringer volume has been dropping to zero randomly, and get this, it can be turned back up WITH THE SIDE BUTTONS, even though they're DISABLED in sounds/haptics. Apple screwed something up. This all used to work fine until the last update.

I also am experiencing this issue. iPhone 11 Pro Max.. I had 14.1 and currently upgrading to 14.2 . I have it to not allow to change with buttons. Still does it randomly. First thought it was from the do not disturb switch but not really... hope this new update fixes it.

It’s related to Bluetooth!!!

I had the same issue and noticed prior to my phone connecting to my car, the ringer is set to maximum. When I exit my vehicle it defaults to 25%.. apple should have figure this out by now :/

About a month ago, I turned off Bluetooth to see if that was the cause, but the issue carried on. However since updating to 14.2 I have not yet had the problem again.

So for me, 14.2 looks like it worked.

I have an Iphone X and my sound volumen keeps changing by itself without me touching the buttons. It is so annoying because I start some random video and volume just goes up to the point where its too loud, and again when I lower it down does the same thing again.

My iPhone XR will turn my ringer volume off whether on a call or just sit my phone down no matter what I do I can not get my phone to stop turning the ringer volume down and it’s annoying I have to have my phone for an alarm and I’m a mechanic so I have to hear my phone calls but my phone will not stop turning it off if someone knows how to fix this problem please let me know

My ringer volume keeps turning way down after stopping my alarm from ringing.

Alarm goes off> I use the option to slide down from the top of the screen to press stop, or when my phone was locked and the alarm went off I use the stop button that pops up. I do not press any buttons on the sides of the phone or the home button. But can see my ringer volume change automatically and immediately after it press stop on the alarm. I have used the “fix” which is really just a workaround of turning off the “change with buttons” ringer volume option. This now leave a my ringer volume alone but it does automatically change my other volume automatically when turning off my alarms (video sounds). Apple needs to fix this issue ASAP. (Iphone6s)

Hello, I had already updated to 14.2 and it had not resolved the issue. However; upon reading Apple’s response to the OP they had mentioned doing a forced shut down and provided the steps for different iPhone users. Mine being iPhone 6s I had to hold down my power and home button until the Apple logo appeared and it went back through it’s start up sequence again.

Good luck ladies and gentlemen with the automatic lowering of ringer volume; I have been on these forums for several months and using current software. I have tried every suggestion for a fix; none worked.

I did have a temporary fix; had to reset all settings on my phone to Troubleshoot a Ear speaker issue Which was a pain in the butt but guess what it fixed the automatic lowering of the ringer volume! When I disconnected from Bluetooth in my GMC truck you could see the volume automatically go back to the previous high volume setting; worked like a charm until I did the next iOS update and right back where I was at; come on apple you can do better!

My change with buttons is turned off as is attention aware but volume still goes down to almost minimum really annoying turn it up to max and within seconds it’s right down again not what you expect when you pay premium price s for apple products

In the end I contacted Apple Support. After trying a few things they downloaded data from my phone and analysed it over a week. They said they found a problem and were working on it. A week or so later iOS 14.2 was released. Since installing that the problem has gone away.

My Iphone 10 Incoming call volume goes low. Cannot get the sound to go up. When choosing a sound in settings the sound is loud. Checked all buttons, turned of CHANGE WITH BUTTONS. What else can I do?

I have a new iphone 12 mini and I have this problem with the volume daily. I am running update 14.3 and the problem continues. I have tried every setting change I can think of or that has been suggested here. It's frustrating! My previous phone was the

8 Plus, and have had 3 different iphones prior to that and never had a problem. Have no idea what to try next. I now have the "change with buttons" turned off and the Attention Aware Features (under Face ID & Passcode) also turned off. The latter helped with the sound volume for the timer feature in the clock app. Apple, please get this fixed!

Tried everything suggested previously without success - truly infuriating feature! Nearly damaged my phone on countless occasions trying to put volume back up whilst training - really intrusive and unwelcome feature - Apple need to sort this out!!!

As instructed, I turned sound off on my Facebook app and this fixed the issue. There are also some other apps that have sound permissions set that interfere with the IOS software.
