FIX to apple watch NOT starting vehicle (Chevy)

Was loving using the myChevrolet app on my I watch 4 to start my car but after upgrading my phone to the 10s the app on my watch no longer works. The symbol is there but won’t open to the controls. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times with no help. The app does work on my phone. Any ideas would be appreciated.

So since the update to the Apple Watch I was unable to start my truck from my watch. I've now corrected this action.

Go to the myChevrolet app ON YOUR PHONE

scroll down to "Settings".

Press "Settings".

Press "Apple Watch".

Switch the open for "Save PIN" to the ON mode.

Restart phone.

Restart watch.

Start vehicle with Apple Watch.

I have been looking for the answer. I have both a Chevy and a Cadillac with the apps and when I went to use my new watch to start them "continue" was grayed out and neither one would start. This was the answer. Thank you!

It seems as if the most recent update resolved this issue by allowing you to enter the PIN on the watch app!

Yes, I think they finally fixed it! yesterday i noticed apple watch asked for a pin!

Well, starting the car remotely with the watch doesn't work...the yellow bar keeps showing those dots and nothing happens...:(

Is this still working for all of you. After updated it worked for about 2 weeks and now it no longer works.

I am not going to say it absolutely always works, but I am still consistently able to start with it. Even my phone misses every so often.

Are you able to remote start with just your Apple Watch without your phone connected to the watch?

I apologize to keshone, I followed up a couple of times after October 30, but I now see apparently my additional replies did not get posted. I have not been able to get the watch app to work consistently. I have tried all of your suggestions and have deleted and re-installed the apps, rebooted, etc. My experience is more along the line of Bilh69, which, of course, makes the watch app worthless if it can't work independently of the phone. It's like right now, the "continue" button is grayed out and no matter how hard and how many times I tap it, NOTHING! It seems to me the watch app needs work.

I am having the exact same issue. I rarely ever close out of apps on my phone. I figured leaving the My Chevrolet app open and enabling background app refresh for the My Chevrolet app on both my iPhone XS and Apple watch series 4 would fix the issue...NOPE!

Phone is running IOS 13.3 and watch is on 6.1.2.

Like others, after doing the latest update and then rebooting both the phone and the watch - the watch requires the update also from the settings menu - both my Chevrolet app and Cadillac app are starting the vehicle from the watch consistently.
