While FaceTiming using my new AT&T iPhone 11, the phone disconnects from my home WiFi during the FaceTime, then reconnect as soon as I end the FaceTime. All software is up to date as of this posting.

OK so before I start explaining the fix. Let me first start by saying that I followed all and any solutions that was out on the web in terms of turn off this setting and turn this on and log in/out of this and etc. Nothing worked!!!! So I was able to finally get a really good expert person at Apple with 11+ years experience. This issue is related to anyone that may have done a transfer from iPhone to iPhone. The issue is that when backed up its pulling in corruption and causing the FaceTime to work properly. Good news / bad news is: Good news, there is a fix. The fix is to reset your phone and wipe the phone completely. When you restart the phone install as a new setup and not from a backup. The bad news is that you have to set it up as a new clean install and will need to re-download most of your apps. There are some apps that are standard that will pull just simply from cloud and things like your contact list and etc. I tested FaceTime on new install and it worked without any issues. It sucks because I have a lot backed up and now I had to reinstall a lot of my old apps and settings but it will ensure you have a clean backup moving forward and not a corrupt. Let me know how it goes for those that have had the same issue with FaceTime like I did (where wifi would drop as soon as it connected).
I am having this same issue. I am so frustrated with this because for one my cellular service is not the best within my home and also because I FaceTime quite a bit at home the issue is causing me to reach my “unlimited” 4G speed data limits before the month is up.
I’ve had this on my 8 plus it’s been driving me mad have tested WiFi signal which at times has been 105mbps I have WiFi calling disabled and still goes to 4G. Got a new iPhone 11 for Christmas and I have the same issue. Come on Apple sort this out it’s been going on for too long!!
I can’t believe that this issue still occurs after more than three months since the new buggy iOS 13 released.
I have looked for solutions online and tried every one of them.

i ended up fully reset my iPhone X and the problem still there.
this is unacceptable and media should escalate this issue.
Same here! Wifi drops whenever I receive a FaceTime call. Then auto reconnects after the call is finished. Latest firmware as of this posting iOS13.3 iPhone XS Max. Can’t apple get their software right anymore? There’s always bugs introduced every update.
Still having this issue. Another thing that happens is that when I go Settings > Mobile Data, wait for it to load and then scroll down, the settings screen crashes. Almost causes the whole phone to crash. Wondering if it's related.
Would appreciate those who have this issue trying that and replying.

I've been dealing with this issue with apple for so long, with a Senior apple adviser, he made me do everything, even totally erase my phone! Let me tell you nothing worked. I just gave up. I have an iPhone 6s. It does the same on my husband iPhone 7.
I can confirm that for myself. Wifi connection is dropping at the exactly same time for both users.
On top I've noticed that turning off my LTE is making troubles when calling thereafter in terms of not starting the calls..
Same thing happens to me, even with my cellular turned off. Whenever i’m on a facetime call or whatsapp call they wifi drops. I need an answer ASAP. Having a long distance relationship is hard enough for this to happen every time!!!!
Well seems it’s a known problem, even apple know about it and when I complained, they acknowledged the problem and diagnosed the phone and wanted to exchange the for me and got a print out from apple that it will be changed for free, I also got issued a new Imei number ( I have all this on officiall papers from Apple, free of charge even though a cracked camera lens) the system accepted all this and new phone came right in front of my eyes, but then a super rude Supervisor came and simply said no. No comment. People I have this on black on white paper work from apple store. Apple knows!!!!!!
I’m experiencing the same problem. Disconnect while on FaceTime. I just switched to At&t from Sprint a month ago. I did not experience this issue. I noticed the first couple days with At&t my FaceTime was lagging at home and tried to enable WiFi with no luck. I assumed my router was the issue. Is there a fix yet??

I have an iPhone 11 Pro (updated to IOS 13.3.1) and it does the same thing when my fiancé and I are on a FaceTime audio call. For a couple of minutes I’ll be connected to wifi but then it drops to my 4G, which results in the call eventually dropping. It’s so frustrating because my fiancé is in the military and I would like to talk to him without having the stress of the call potentially dropping.
Dude this **** doesn’t work. Tell Apple to fix the bug from the software update. I’m not trying to waste all my data because your company doesn’t know how to fix a freakin bug in a software. Figure it out.
Omg I completely understand. The weird thing is that it works on my best friends wifi and she has weak wifi but then on my strong wifi it ALWAYS drops out. They seriously need to fix this. They’re letting us down
I don’t know if you experience this but my phone doesn’t charge while I’m on a FaceTime audio call. It gets to 80% and then it stops charging. When I get off the call, it goes back to charging normally.
