While FaceTiming using my new AT&T iPhone 11, the phone disconnects from my home WiFi during the FaceTime, then reconnect as soon as I end the FaceTime. All software is up to date as of this posting.

OK so before I start explaining the fix. Let me first start by saying that I followed all and any solutions that was out on the web in terms of turn off this setting and turn this on and log in/out of this and etc. Nothing worked!!!! So I was able to finally get a really good expert person at Apple with 11+ years experience. This issue is related to anyone that may have done a transfer from iPhone to iPhone. The issue is that when backed up its pulling in corruption and causing the FaceTime to work properly. Good news / bad news is: Good news, there is a fix. The fix is to reset your phone and wipe the phone completely. When you restart the phone install as a new setup and not from a backup. The bad news is that you have to set it up as a new clean install and will need to re-download most of your apps. There are some apps that are standard that will pull just simply from cloud and things like your contact list and etc. I tested FaceTime on new install and it worked without any issues. It sucks because I have a lot backed up and now I had to reinstall a lot of my old apps and settings but it will ensure you have a clean backup moving forward and not a corrupt. Let me know how it goes for those that have had the same issue with FaceTime like I did (where wifi would drop as soon as it connected).
I am experiencing exactly the same issue on IPhone 12, Software Version 14.3.
Is there any resolution on this topic. It is very annoying as I am always dropping back on Edge which doesn’t really allow a proper conversation.
Almost a year and a half later and this issue still has not been fixed. It’s affecting everyone I know who has an iPhone, but watch Apple create a post in 2 years saying it’s only affecting “A small number of users”. They do this all the time
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max on the newest IOS 14.4 and this keeps on happening. The call keeps on dropping to poor connection and goes to LTE instead of wifi.. Super annoying then the calls start to go to reconnecting and even fail. Additionally, anyone else has the issue of the iPhone 12 not charging. It charges and then stops and then starts again and keeps doing this. Ill only be able to charge about 70% even when I leave it overnight.
Sadly I have IOT (lighting) tied to a 2.4 Ghz network (it only functions on 2.4 Ghz) so I cannot do this.
Wondering if a device update has solved this for anyone. Has anyone avoided this bug with newer iPhones (12 series?) I have an 11 Pro. I'm in Facetime meetings daily and it's been such a nightmare.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro and I’ve had this issue since I purchased this phone. I always thought it was my wifi, but this issue happens no matter what WiFi network I am connected to. I always have to use my iPad to FaceTime people, because it is the only device that has a stable FaceTime connection.
I upgraded from the iPhone XR to the 12 Pro thinking that it was the stupid Intel modem causing the issue and the issue of not being able to use GPS with cellular data turned turned off but I was wrong, still happening with the Qualcomm Modem. I miss my iPhone 6s, sure it was slow loading games but didn’t have these silly issues. I would switch back to my 6s if the the Touch ID wasn’t broken. My daughters 7 and my wife’s 8 also do not have these issues. Almost seems like a racket! In cahoots with the carriers much???
I still have this problem on an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 14.7.1. It seems to be a consistent problem when using facetime and Bluetooth. Given the ubiquity of Bluetooth headphones its long past time that it was resolved.
I have the same problem. Wifi randomly disconnects and reconnects while on a facetime call. I think it’s a bug in iOS 13. I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max on iOS 13.1.3.
Well I guess lets hope the updates fix it eventually:) I saw this morning there is another update, unless im late to the game but we’ll see!
It does the same for me! Since I downloaded iOS 13. Even with the new update it keeps happening. I have an iPhone 6s

I wondered the same thing! And if that’s the case, is it on Apple at all to help?? Or are we just SOL ? Super frustrating, I use facetime A LOT and no one with Apple seems to want to help?
