iPhone not ringing after iOS 13 update

Since updating to iOS 13, my phone (iPhone XS) is sitting right in front of me on my desk and when someone calls, the phone doesn't ring or make a sound. It appears to happen when the phone is plugged in by cable to my MacBook Pro. I'm currently running iOS 13.1.2.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and after talking to several apple reps one of them finally suggested putting the device on recovery mode and resetting it from scratch (don't use a back up, once logged in to iCloud it will retrieve most of your data, I did have to manually update my apps though). This solved my issue and my phone now rings and alerts me to texts! Apparently the software was corrupt and it needed to be removed and reinstalled (resetting it to factory settings on the cloud does not remove hardware). You will need to have iTunes on a computer, below is a link to how to set it on recovery mode, hopefully it helps some of you

24 Hour update. So I did do the 13.2 beta update to my phone yesterday. So far everything is working as it should. everything rings, I can send text pictures, etc. for those that asked, yes I did a backup with itunes before I did the 13.2 beta update.

I did not have to reset any network, remove any phone contacts. so far its working as I'd expect my phone to work. so whatever 13.2 has vs 13.1.2 its an improvement so far.

first thing is to check is Settings> Phone > Silence Unknown Callers. I am beginning to think that this is on by default in iOS 13.

Next to check is Vibrate on Ring and Vibrate on silent are on and volume is Maximum.

Test.

If this does not fix the issue, the next step is to reset network settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Test. (be aware that this will require you to re-enter all wifi passwords as the networks become available.)

When I downloaded 13.1.2 it was still in testing, so a Beta. Did not know it was fully available yet. Anyway, after the download the ring still did not work. So I turned the phone off, then on again, and as far as I can tell everything is back to normal and the phone still rings more than 24 hours after I downloaded 13.1.2

I have an iPhone 11. Would be difficult for Apple if the different i-phones from SE on up have a different reaction to iOS13 dependent upon the model....

The ringing issue with iPhone 8 Plus and iOS 13.1.2 has already been solved. I went to Apple Store (at Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong) this morning and asked its technical support to check and fix it for me. The problem was tackled by deleting some blocked call lists via iCloud. My iPhone 8 Plus rings and vibrates now when there is an incoming call. I am very satisfied with Apple Store’s technical solution provided. It's efficient and effective. Thanks.

Having this same problem. I looked at the settings for my sounds (ringer and alerts) and found that the slide bar was set to silent and the "Change with Buttons" option that allows control by the phone side buttons was turned off. So I changed that but now it rings about a half ring at the volume I set and then subsequent rings can barely be heard. A very slight improvement but Apple needs to fix this!

Just to let everyone know...it is a bug. I had an eSim from a different carrier installed and since then when the phones second line is active, 'do not disturb' gets activated even though in settings it appears to be off!

Turn off second line and problem goes away.....

I have my weekly (ha, ha) call back from Apple to discuss this latest issue with my phone.

if anything positive comes fron the conversation, i will let you know

BTW Apple released 13.1.3 which was supposed to address the issue....did not work for me!
