Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Since updating to iOS 13, my phone (iPhone XS) is sitting right in front of me on my desk and when someone calls, the phone doesn't ring or make a sound. It appears to happen when the phone is plugged in by cable to my MacBook Pro. I'm currently running iOS 13.1.2.
Any suggestions?

Yah, checked all those things. It is weird in that it only seems to happen on occasion, but when it does, I can sit there and see the VM come up without the phone even ringing or any indication that anyone was trying to call.
I have att Apple knows my problem and I have done all the above. I have a XS Max. Also my Apple Watch series 4 cellular, no longer rings when I get a telephone call. Been having issues since I downloaded iOS 12.4.1.
Since I updated to the dreaded 13.2 some time last week, my iPhone 8 (T-mobile) has lost it's ringtone, text tone, and does not vibrate. I have spent a total of three days, and a total of six hours on the phone with two different reps in the tech department. Both of the reps went through every step (after the obvious ones...silence, do not disturb, etc). Yes, they say it is a bug and the only solution is to do the factory reset after the other soft reset doesn't work...which it does not. If that fails, the last and final solution is to take it to Apple or send the phone in to have it fixed which does not sound like a viable answer to me. Apple went downhill. Thanks for the feedback form, I already submitted my dissatisfaction.
Same same here! I’ve wasted countless hours that I’ll never get back all for nothing. I also submitted the feedback form venting about the issue. If it isn’t fixed soon, I’m getting an Android. My patience has worn thin.

Reboot, go into settings, general, resets, and reset your network settings.
see if that lasts.
i will let you know you will have to enter all WiFi passwords again, but I believe this combination is working for some
Same issue!!! Phone not ringing & I’ve tested all the above mentioned fixes. Too no avail. Been a loyal user since public launch, 2007. If this issue isn’t addressed & resolved IMMEDIATELY (i.e. w/in 5-10 days) have no choice but to leave Apple to ensure my livelihood as an independent contractor. Y’all missing w/my $ w/this new update!!! 🙏🏾 Y’all address this issue and communicate a reliable fix within the next 5-10 days that is reliable and effectively communicated to your users.
Well since I manually turned off the WiFi on my Apple series 4 watch the phone will ring and the watch rings when I am away from the phone.
I have reset my network settings, erased my phone and setup as new etc etc. senior advisors know as much as we all know how to fix this.
Maldonado in my car which is a 19, the phone no longer goes to the phone page when I call someone from my phone instead of through the car with the voice assistance.
I have not a clue why a billion dollar company releases software without bench checking it first. Oh and my husband sister friends and mother have not one issue.
All my Android peeps, and that’s the majority, have me just about convinced that this happens every time they roll out a new phone. I’m still using a much “older” version that I bought 2 years ago. I’ll probably go back to Android when it’s time to upgrade. I hate the lack of a headphone jack & those douchey Apple earbuds are more painful than childbirth.
None of that works, including factory settings reset. All that the apple tech support rep a suggested didn’t work. It still loads iOS 13.1.2, which is the problem. Hopefully, they’ll release a bug fix soon.
I’m not having the issue with my phone, but I am having the same exact issue with my iPad Pro since updating to the iOS 13.1.2. When a call is coming in it’s showing up on my iPad, but it’s not ringing when my iPad is locked and it doesn’t show up in my notifications if the call is missed. If my iPad is unlocked, then it rings, but still doesn’t show up in my notifications as a missed call. However, when someone FaceTimes me, then it does ring and shows up in my notifications. I’m glad I’m not having the issue with my phone, but when I’m home my phone is on silent mode and I rely on my iPad ringing to let me know about a call coming in. There is a major issue with the new iOS 13.1.2 upgrade.
iam facing the same problem that my phone suddenly goes to the silent mode and then i need to swtich off my phone. please try to solve this problem as soon as possible as it is causing to much problem
I called as soon as it happened. Basically the tech rep told me to get all the solutions mentioned here. When that didn’t work, he suggested a factory reset and then load from my backups. It didn’t fix anything.

me Too! Not only I can’t hear phone ringing ( it’s on vibrate and it does not vibrate anymore) my phone won’t ring to the car or Apple Watch! I stopped receiving text alerts and notifications too! I pick up my phone and don’t even see texts until I check the number on message app. This is unacceptable ! The phone should work for at least calls and texts!
Join the club...I've restored my Iphone XR with no luck. Reset every setting prior to that point as well.
Phone worked fine up until the IOS 13 update then all kind of weirdness!
A reboot will fix it for about one phone call then it goes silent. The only good thing is I don't hear the annoying SPAM calls anymore so thanks to the Apple Quality Test team on that one.
