Apple TV closes while pandora is playing

I reinstalled Pandora and I’m pretty sure it’s gone now.

Same here. This is new with the update. Now the apple tv shuts off and turns of my tv off after 15 minutes of Pandora playing. I changed sleep mode to never but that did not solve the problem as my apple tv stayed on all night last night after watching Netflix and turning the tv off and going to bed. I turned my tv back on the next afternoon and the apple tv screensaver was still on. I don’t like that. I put sleep mode back on and am waiting for either apple tv to update again or for pandora to update their app to fix the issue.

I uninstalled then reinstalled Pandora's app and my AppleTV's sleep setting still overwrites the app while it's playing and switches off. Really hoping Pandora releases an update for latest AppleTV software so this doesn't continue happening.

That has already been discussed. Its a clunky work around but doesn’t fix that the app is broken. You shouldn’t need to prevent the AppleTV from going to sleep, it should recognize that the app is running and not go to sleep.

If the box worked that way for video apps, it would be constantly shutting down while you were watching. Pandora worked fine until this latest update - something changed...

So the poblem seems to be with all the music/podkas/sounds app that are running on the background and are not being recognized by the OS as an active apps, sounds more like an tvOS problem rather than the apps. I wonder if any of the apps that are giving us this trouble have been updated recently. Ive been constantly checking to see if Pandora got updated to no avail, the workaround is pretty annoying cuz setting it for an hours can go by really fast and then putting to 5 could be too much. I really hoped to a timely resolution but i guess will have to wait longer than anticipated, i guess this new OS(macOS Catalina, tvOS, iOS) release from apple has been the most disastrous ever, so many different problems since day one.

Just installed tvos 13.2 and the problem still persists so I guess apple doesn’t consider this as an issue and the ball is entirely in pandoras court which *** since they haven’t done a thing for a good good month already

I have the exact same problem. Never happened before the latest iTvOs 13 update. It’s driving me nuts.

You have six options. Never, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 5 hours, and 10 hours. I chose never but you could probably choose any of the other options.

It’s not all music apps. I tested it with Spotify and there was no shut off issue. It ran for several hours and my sleep mode was still set up.

I thought it was Pandora but I have Life.Church app that plays messages over 30 minutes just fine, however when I play music in the app it shuts off appletv after 15 minutes.

Is this happening on Spotify for anyone, too? Could this be Apple purposely not supporting this app well to get people to move to Apple Music. After all, you can't access Pandora or Spotify directly on the HomePod (you have to do it on your iPhone and treat it as Bluetooth speaker), even though every other digital assistant allows a direct connection.

Unfortunately i dont see an update for the app neither on mu apple tv nor my phone. Restarted atv closed app store no update. Restated the pandora app and my trying again now, but most likely it wont work since there is no update. Anyone else had a chance to test it or got their app updated?
