notifications not working ios 13.1.2

Fixed! The total system reboot didn't work (essentially wiping the phone clear as if I were to sell it), but what did work was a restore system settings.

Make sure the little switch above the volume is turned on when I updated for some reason it was off now have sound and notifications

I was having no badge/notifications show up for Mail app (I have a Gmail address, not sure if this matters). It ended up being because “Push” was turned off. Go to Settings>Passwords and Accounts>Fetch new data> make sure “Push” is turned on. Once I did this, I now get the badge on my Mail app that shows how many new emails there are.

I can say I'm now on Beta 13.3.3 and finally everything works like it did and I'm getting all my alerts. I do note that when wearing my new Iwatch I only get the notification on the watch. From what I read it is how it works now.

• Was having the same issue. What fixed it for me was: for iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until the screen turns off. Turn back on normally, immediately iMessage notifications started working.

Till now 13.4 IOS and problem not solving

Notifications not received for applications like smart home, Facebook, ... etc

issue may happened due to the following

1- iMessage and FaceTime, try to deactivate them as it may be from them

2- if your carrier not support LTE so please work on 3G, check your carrier Apple cooperation together

3- issue happened when you deactivate your WiFi and log into another network WiFi then return again to your first one

here somthing stuck and need time under the network to work automatic again why ?! I don’t know

in some cases not working so we have to reset network and deactivate and activate WiFi many times and reset your phone and router to work

it is seems that your mobile connection stuck Into the WiFi network so when you reconnect again WiFi not see your mobile till you make restart to phone and Router

apple shall know why this happened

may be also because your router have 2 frequency 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz and router is auto so frequency may changed automatic to your mobile and this lead to stuck

if you can fix frequency at your router do it to remove this probability from your calculations

i don’t know exact reason but this is all what I see from many searching

till now IOS 13.4 still the problem exist

Unfortunately, in Apple's misguided wisdom, notifications go to either your Apple Watch or iPhone, but not both! 

• If your iPhone is unlocked, you'll get notifications on your iPhone, instead of your Apple Watch.
• If your iPhone is locked or asleep, you'll get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked with your passcode (ie when you put it on after charging and haven't put in your passcode).

Through reading through all the previous advice on this and other discussion pages, I have found that there are a couple of work arounds (in addition to your airplane mode).

1. Turn off Wrist Detection (in your Apple Watch app on your iPhone). This will however, not let you use Apple Pay etc. Messages should now appear on both Watch and iPhone.
2. Turn off your Watch Notifications in Messages, or Send to Notification Centre (in your Apple Watch app on your iPhone). This will allow the messages to appear on your iPhone, but not your Watch. This would be an issue though if you are using your Watch without being near your iPhone (eg you go on a walk without your iPhone).

My issue with notifications and the phone not ringing started back when the iOS 13.1.2 update was installed back in October 2019. I didn't get my Apple Watch until Xmas 2019 so the watch wasn't the issue at that stage.

Again, through all my research, I found that there was a bluetooth issue with that update which was one of the major causes for the phone and messages to not not ring. For instance, if you get a text and you don't have your watch connected to the Bluetooth, then you get notified of your message on the iPhone by both the ringing and notification on the screen. For those that don't have an iPhone, then it may have been their Mac connected by bluetooth, or something else. One person found they had bluetooth speakers that although turned off, were still connected to the BT so it caused them the issue. Another person found that their car's bluetooth in the garage had been causing the issue. So you need to check ALL bluetooth connections and delete any unnecessary ones.

Another of the issues was due to iMessage being turned on. For instance, when my daughter texted me on her Samsung, I didn't receive notifications/ringing. If my husband texted me on his iPhone, I also didn't receive anything, however, if my friend texted me from her iPhone, but had her iMessage turned off, then I got the notifications!

Apple sent out a couple of updates to fix these issues, which they may have been, but as I got the Apple Watch and didn't realise that you couldn't have notifications on both at the same time (so thought the issue continued), I can't tell you if or when the initial issue got resolved.

There just seems to be way too many issues that are not being resolved, at least in a timely fashion. It doesn't help that Apple have chosen to have notifications to behave the way have either. Very disappointing. I feel Apple will lose a lot of customers from these issues as they go on for way too long.

Anyway, I hope this helps you understand a little more about your issue, even though I don't believe it will solve it.

Well that’s what it was for my xr😻 do you have anything else that Bluetooths off of it or an I pad or anything it connects to? If so try turning it all off

Do you have an iPad or an I watch?? If so turn them off... that worked for me. Sucks cause I love my watch..😒

i had the same problem. try with dfu mode.that should help.

I have IPhone 7 and also have same problem last week and I fixed it.

I dont know how to relation with facetime. But I opened the facetime namely clicked yes. Notifications start to come.

Seems to be solved with current update.

Check your blocked caller list. I lost communication from one person and that was it. I accidentally added a person to my blocked caller list. Removed the number and was back in business.

I have an iphone 7 and I had the same issue and tried every solution I could find - even did a phone reset. I finally got it fixed - by turning off imessages, facetime and phone notifications and then doing a restart on my phone.

Still can't send any pics via message, email or airdrop - but at least I'm getting notified when someone calls or texts me.

Same issue here! Brand new iPhone 11. Have tried everything and nothing works. No Ring notifications, Instagram, authenticators, nothing.

Trying an update on my Series 1 Apple Watch to 6.1. I’ve seen others reporting that helped.
