notifications not working ios 13.1.2

Since installing iOS 13.1.2, I do not message notifications on either my iPhone Xr or my watch. Receives are received, but no notifications. I’ve changed settings on both watch and phone, but still no notifications. Is this a known bug? Fix on the way?

This reset worked for me as well (iPhone XS) - I was intermittently not receiving alerts for both iMessages and text messages for several months. The message would be there when I looked at my lock screen but never made a sound or vibration to alert me. What siamless typed (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings) is the only fix that seemed to solve the problem (has worked for last 2 months).

This is what "Reset All Settings" does:

-Resets all of your device's settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and more.

-Resets Wi-Fi credentials in all iCloud Keychain devices that use the Apple ID if iCloud Keychain is turned on.

-Removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords

-Removes your Apple Pay cards.

-Deregisters your device from iMessage and FaceTime

-Removes your Touch ID & Passcode

-If restrictions are turned on, it resets all of your restrictions.

-Removes Face ID

-Resets accessibility settings

-It removes your encrypted backup password

SOLUTION (SORTA) Well, I found out something that may help many of you. I have had (and posted about) my wife's notifications in messages coming through but with no notification at all. It also happened with a handful of my 800+ contacts who text me. I have tried everything posted on this and other sites and nothing has solved getting notifications of her text messages to me. BUT, she tried messaging me to my iCloud EMAIL address instead of my mobile number, and magic! I get her notifications. I know it is not a solution but a work around, but it works. Hope it helps some of you and the other guy who's wife's notifications aren't coming through either.

I don’t know how you didn’t hear of this, I went to the Apple Store last week and it is a common thing now after the iOS 13 update. Even with 13.1.2, it did not take care of the problem. The phone seems to do it half of the time, then it doesn’t do it other half of the time. Where text messages will make a noise and pop up when you receive one, and then other times it won’t. And then your phone will be ringing when you look at it, but there’s no noise. And you go into the facial recognition, and turn that off. It still doesn’t work. and I don’t half a dozen people where we have "reset all settings" and still didn't work. And if you’re using Google Maps when you’re driving, your calendar notifications pop up, but text messages won’t. Whatever they did in this series of update is horrible.

Yes, seven out of 10 times I get no alert for my text messages, and probably seven out of 10 times I get no alert for phone calls, even though if I look at the screen I can see someone’s calling me. And being unemployed, and having employers call me for interviews, what a paiYes, seven out of 10 times I get no alert for my text messages, and probably seven out of 10 times I get no alert for phone calls. I have reset my phone to factory default, I have reset my phone up from scratch, I have done everything that Apple, and Google has suggested, yet since that update, the phone has a mind of its own. There’s no other way to say it. It does what it wants, when it wants. So frustrating! And I called Apple support this morning, and they said they have no update as to when Apple’s going to come out with another update to fix it.

Your not alone. I have 5 Apple watches all series 4 and all of them do not receive email notifications. iOS 13.1.3 was supposed to fix this but it did not. All 5 watches sent into Apple repair and just got notified that all 5 are being shipped back with the known issue. WTF Apple? They are seriously going downhill fast and my old timex will be getting a new life. Done with CRAPPLE.

I got iPhone 7 as well, updated to the 13.2 beta 4 which just came out, still no notifications for WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, etc. I sent feedback using the beta feedback app. Gmail, twitter and LinkedIn do get notifications for some reason. WhatsApp web also stopped working since its seems that none of those apps can run on the background, when someone sending me a message on WhatsApp it shows only one tick.

This is so frustrating, I never had this kind of experience with any iOS version before since using my iPhone 5 on iOS 6.

Please fix this as soon as possible Apple, I can't use my iPhone properly :(

Things that I tried to do to fix the issue:

- I updated all apps from the App Store.

- I tried hard & soft reset.

- I turned on and off background app refresh & Do Not Disturb.

- I checked all notifications settings, everything seems to be fine.

- I tried to use Cellular network & WiFi to check if it might be a network error.

This describes my issue exactly! My wife is the person I don't get notifications from. One of the things I read online said to try resetting network settings, and I had something interesting happen when I tried that. Once I had done it, I had her text me, but instead of saying "You have a new text message from Missie" it said "You have a new text message from (###) ###-####" (her phone number). I opened my texts, and watched the display on name on her text message change from "(###) ###-####" to "Missie". I thought everything was fixed except then I stopped getting notifications from her AGAIN. The phone stopped giving me notifications again as soon as it realized it was her. I'm also on Verizon... but I agree with you that this being a carrier issue doesn't make much sense.

I did a hard reset and installed as a new phone. Installed whatsapp and only whatsapp and notifications arrived while the phone was locked. After half an hour I did a second hard reset and installed the back up from icloud. The first minutes all seemed to work fine, but again no notifications until I turn on the phone and open the app (whatsapp or mail, etc).

So, will have to wait until Apple do something....

I found a solution as follow

1- if you will use sim internet please check first if your carrier supported by Apple cooperations or not

some counties not supported for LTE or 4G

if so please don’t use 4G LTE as it will make conflict on notifications and use 3G instead for internet and calls

try to reset your carrier APN setting from cellular option

2- in case of WiFi notifications not received it is a big issue from your internet provider

first download VPN application like VPN master from App Store

connect throw any another fast network, he will connect you automatic

it shall works well

3- Try to fix your WiFi to 5 ghz frequency and channel 11

you will find it under your WiFi router setting, advanced, WiFi, frequency and channel

it will give you fast internet speed and data and also prevent from toggle between 2.4 and 5

but take care as this frequency will affect signal strength throw walls

4- Update to last IOS version

5- Some people found a conflict throw iMessage and FaceTime

if you need to be sure just deactivate them as if as you can and see what will happened

Thanks and hope all be well

I have no issues with airplane mode as it works just as I want it. I understand that that alerts will only go to either the watch or the phone when wrist detection is on. When I don't want my watch to alert I purposely turn on airplane mode on my watch. The only issue I have is with random alerts being notified whether I am wearing my watch or not. I've been using these products since Apple released them.

For others following, the step that provides me the most notifications is turning off iMessage. Hasn't been 100% but a lot more consistent than with it on. Good luck everyone!
