After installing Catalina, it asks me to update my Apple ID settings. I put in my password, and then it asks for my Mac password, which I give it. Then after a few minutes the message pops back up again. Happens on both my Macbook and iMac.
Logging in and out didn't help on my MacBook, there is too much to delete/re-add for me to want to try it on my iMac.

Had the same problem. in my case it had to do with saving my keychain to iCloud. Click on System Settings, then Apple ID at the top then choose iCloud. It will show what is using iCloud scroll down and choose Keychain. you may have to enter your Apple ID and your computer password a couple times. keep on following the prompts.
Replying to my own previous reply: The Mac password change didn't work in the end, it only worked for 5 minutes! Back to the same constant password prompts.
Thank you so much Michael! I followed your solution and it cleared it for me too. I had the same issue with the iCloud Keychain not being ticked off after Catalina's installation.
I’ve signed in and out about 50 times. Rebooted, changed password, left it standing overnight, kept plugging the password every 3 minutes... it’s screwed.
How many more times?!?! I am running out of patience here. It seems as tough I have spoken too fast earlier, Michael's solution worked for a few minutes but the prompt keeps coming back.

That’s what I’ve been doing, as far as I know that’s the only place you can sign out of it anyway.
Done that, still no difference.

Michael Keenan's solution solved this issue on my MBP.
I got the same issue. After upgrading to Catalina, my MBP2015 keeps asking for my iCloud password everyday despite iCloud Keychain is already enabled.
It came back, so this didn't help. This is extremely frustrating.
Lots of people with different solutions or things that worked for some but not others. I think we can all agree Apple really screwed the pooch on this upgrade. Don't make me miss Windows, Apple.
I agree, it's something Apple has to "fix", or at least give us some kind of indication as to what went wrong..
This process is borked. The solution people are giving works, but it is completely unintuitive. There needs to be a better approach.
