Crackling noise/Feedback on Iphone 11 pro
Is anyone experiencing feedback/crackling sounds when making FaceTime, WhatsApp, or regular calls on iPhone 11 Pro? if so, what is the fix?

I have been to the Apple store in Amsterdam 3 days ago. They tested the phone and it appeared that 1 of the receivers was broken. Therefore they replaced the entire screen (which includes the receivers nowadays). Took 1,5 hour and everything works fine again.
Remove your phone case and try. It should fix the problem
I had the same problem turns out it was the iphone case. I removed the iphone case and it was fine. Apparently some phone cases dont have enough holes on the bottom for the speakers and microphones to travel sound outwards, instead they just muffle inside the cases and cause static sound when video calling and facetiming
I have a new 11 Pro, and experience the same problem as described in this thread since day one. I have been talking to Apple support and got some additional things to try. The thing that "solved" my issue with crackling sound while talking over Bluetooth in the car, was turning off the WiFi on the phone. However, I had to do it in the settings, not in the control center.
This is obviously not a solution that I want to live with in the long run.
I don't know if it is a software or a hardware issue.
Currently I'm waiting for some feedback from the Apple support.
Got my phone in February. Last Friday (17 Apr 2020) it started making terrible sqwaking noises like a walkie-talkie for all notifications, music, ringing, if I try to use speakerphone... only the speaker I place to my ear works. I have to use a headset to avoid the sound or keep it on silent.
My provider couldn’t help, sent me to Apple Care, who is currently having me connect to my old desktop and restore my phone. I’ll let you know if it works.
I’m also having this issue. Went to Apple store, they ran some tests and couldn’t find any hardware issue. I insisted that something is not right though as my girlfriend also has the same phone and she doesn’t seem to have this problem. They asked me to reset all settings and try the phone for another week. Still experiencing the problem. I’ll go back to raise this issue. I suspect it is indeed a faulty hardware and not software, as it’s not happening on all the phones.
I have had this problem since the day I bought my iPhone 11 Pro. It’s ridiculous that this is even a thing on a phone that I paid over $1,200 dollars for.
I have sound feedback every time I use FaceTime and most times that I use the speaker phone. It sounds like my voice getting feed back, only lower pitch and more mechanical.
It seems to happen less if I rotate the phone and turn the volume down about halfway. It seems to get worse if the bottom phone speaker gets covered by my finger or phone holder.
I also have had this problem from when I first got mine. iPhone 11pro max. I came here to report it in October. Unfortunately it comes and goes, exactly like you said...yes the cost of this, I never would have thought this would happen. I use to have an iPhone 8 Plus and never had this. I have heard it is hardware, then heard it was software, then heard it was the case...I got mine and put a screen protector on top and in a case, been like this since day one, and problem still comes and goes. Really baffled, and frustrated when it happens. All I do is hang up with my call and call back and it is gone.
I have the same issue. Brand new iPhone 11 within 7 days had 4 different episodes of random crackling sound through a phone call or playing music. This was through my air pod pros, and my car audio. Appears to be Bluetooth situation, doesn't occur when I am on the actual phone. Also, doesn't matter where I am I can be in the middle of nowhere driving, in the office, or in my home. Anywhere, and it last about 20 seconds and goes away. It appears to not return if I at least reboot the phone. If I don't it happens more on a regular basis (daily) versus weekly.
Went to apple several times, they replaced my phone because I swore it was a defective phone since it was within 60 days of purchase it and it occurred so often. (side note, I had already attempted to delete/re add the blue tooth devices, brought it back to default settings, also did a clean sweep (started fresh) re did back up install, etc....nothing).
Apple gave in and gave me a new phone. We even did my install of the back up differently to truly prevent any old iPhone 10 settings from maybe causing the issue..
weeks later...happens again....
I've been reading and it sounds like this is happening a lot but no solution...? If it's not defective hardware, what software issue is causing this??
I am not sure what case will be good, for time being I am just taking cover off when my friends are complaining about quality of my voice. Once cover removed they say now you sound better. I am puzzled why this can be, holes are not blocked by the cover. With cover on, if I talk directly to microphone there is no problem only when I am holding phone in front of me during video calls voice is distorted and hard to understand.
Same here! With or without any case! Resetting didn’t work! Changing the phone didn’t work! Internet cable came and my internet is downloading 502mbps and uploading 41mbps, so it is not the internet! It is the iPhone 11! Go to YouTube and you are going to see many videos that people are making showing the sound delay that this iPhone has... they messed up...
Wishing I had read this before I paid to early upgrade my iPhone X because of this issue. It has to be a software as well as an internal / cheap quality speaker issue. I never had an issue with my iPhone X until about two months ago. And it usually is only on FaceTime with a couple of people. I had also noticed I had been getting that weird interference crackling old home phones use to get that made us as kids think aliens exist- but that has been far less frequent than the constant echoing and feedback sounds on FaceTime. It got so bad I had to upgrade my x to the 11pro- only to find that the problem persists. I also noticed some days even my music sounds flat and not as dynamic- and that issue has appeared across the board, with my Apple TVs, iMac, and my phones. And while you noticed this months ago- I’m thinking quarantine has been a great mask for this issue to be covered by! It’s unfortunate to have a company you are loyal to not return the favor with quality control.
It’s possibly a software issue. After the recent update some of the issues I had have disappeared. I still get very bad audio interruptions and distortion using any wired headphones or Bluetooth devices. The screen still has a bad response rate with touch. The lag seems to have got worse in fact. With me tapping the screen for a good 10 seconds with no response from the phone at all. But the speaker crackling I was getting has gone. Mind you I do play loud music on my phone so it’s also possible the loud music has “broken” the speakers in. That’s possibly the reason behind the crackling too if they are new?
I’m currently waiting to see if iOS 14 fixes all these issues. If not. This will be the last iPhone I ever buy.
Take the phone case off. Then try
https://youtu.be/6CFWEgn4YDA this totally solved the issue!
We should all try to comment or DM famous tech youtubers because they’re the ones that Apple monitors in fear of bad press.
