MacBook Air bricked after upgrade from Mojave to Catalina

I have a 2014 MacBook Air, after upgrading froM Mojave to Catalina the computer is no longer booting, the computer is no longer producing a chime or responding to any keystrokes, after 5 minutes a blinking folder with a question mark appears.

The computer worked perfectly fine before the update. There is no hardware issue with my device, a simple OS update corrupted my BIOS/EFI/SSD and it's no longer working. Anyone else with the same problem after the update? After searching online I have noticed it also happened to people with the 2014 MacBook Pro and an iMac.

Boogyman10o1, no keys strokes are detected at the computer, the computer doesnt even chime or do anything, it simply start black and 4 minutes later the flashing folder. Trust me I have spent the last two days trying to boot into recovery, pram reset nvram reset internet recovery booting from external USB. Nothing works.

Update: Apple is not taking responsibility for this, quoted me a new board, independent repair shops says the EFI chip is completely corrupted and will need to be changed.

I highly recommend everyone to make this problem public as possible so apple can acknowledge it. After checking around the internet there are already hundreds of cases with the same problem.

So as far as I can see I will need to pay for this repair.
